Get traffic stats for a specific page in Google Analytics?

May 24, 2010 / Dave Taylor / HTML & Web Page Design, Web Site Traffic Tips / 12 Comments

I’ve been using Google Analytics for a while and a client just asked me about the traffic on a specific page. I logged into the Analytics site and dug around everywhere, but can’t see anywhere I can actually just type in a URL and find the stats for that specific page. Is it possible, or is that just not how Google Analytics works?

What is “article spinning” software?

May 5, 2010 / Dave Taylor / SEO & Marketing, Web Site Traffic Tips / 7 Comments

I write for other sites and a friend told me that I should use article spinning software so that I can have a bunch of versions to distribute, rather than write on a one-by-one basis. Sounds interesting, but what is it?

How Can a Blogger Improve their SEO ranking?

April 17, 2010 / Dave Taylor / Articles, Tutorials, and Reviews, SEO & Marketing, Web Site Traffic Tips, Wordpress Help / 17 Comments

[This is a guest submission…]
Perhaps the biggest compliment a blogger can receive is more traffic (an increase in the number of visitors) to their site. It creates a feeling of accomplishment and high credibility. Any blogger would enjoy the reputation of having their opinions and information spread across the Internet, reaching thousands, if not millions of people.
This question (more like a desire) consumes the minds of most bloggers and it’s quite legit. In fact, every time I talk to someone who blogs, the first thing they ask me is “How can I improve my SEO” once they find out I’m an SEO guy.

Is it Expensive to Run an Affiliate Marketing Business?

March 25, 2010 / Dave Taylor / Articles, Tutorials, and Reviews, Business Advice, Web Site Traffic Tips / 9 Comments

On the surface, affiliate marketing one of the best start-up businesses around, as it requires very little in the way of capital investment and all you really need to get started are a computer, electricity, and an Internet connection (all of which most of us already have). Plus a lot of elbow grease and creativity, especially in the early days.

How can I track visitors to my Web page?

March 18, 2010 / Dave Taylor / HTML & Web Page Design, Web Site Traffic Tips / 3 Comments

I don’t have a blog, I don’t have a fancy Web site and I don’t have a profile on MySpace or Facebook, but I do get people coming to my simple little four-page Web site and I’d like to learn more about them. My sister says I want to run some “analytics” program, but I’m clueless. I can edit HTML, but what do I add?

How do I add a venue (my business) to Foursquare?

February 3, 2010 / Dave Taylor / Business Advice, iPhone & iOS Help, Web Site Traffic Tips / 11 Comments

My son and his friends are really into a iPhone program called Foursquare, and whenever they go somewhere, they “check in” so that they can find each other. Neat idea. Is there some way that I can add my own restaurant to the list of places where people can check in so that they’ll see we’re popular and perhaps check us out?

November 12, 2009 / Dave Taylor / SEO & Marketing, Web Site Traffic Tips / 5 Comments

I have a question about back links. How do you get relavent back links without getting on link farms? I have been using twitter for a while and just started facebook. I was told to get a tinyurl and add a small fishing report on twitter and it would count as a backlink? I have written 5 articles on ezine but find that time consuming and did not help much.

Why don’t my banner ad stats match Google Analytics stats?

October 8, 2009 / Dave Taylor / AdSense, AdWords, and PPC Help, Web Site Traffic Tips / 7 Comments

I was curious as to why my banner ad reports don’t match up with my google analytics visitors. For instance, my recent report shows 1200 clicks on banner ads, but the referring visits from the banners on GA only shows 500 visits.
