I subscribe to any Google Adsense earnings but zero in the day, I do not know why: I hope you can advise me advice and profitable ways that make me win tens of dollars per day.
Thanks for your note. Based on your name (in Arabic) I am going to venture a guess that you aren’t based in the United States, nor are most of your visitors coming from the United States. That’s a problem, because while AdSense is available in a number of languages, the majority of advertisers are not only based in the United States, but they also target US-based customers.
Why? Because if the company doesn’t ship to customers in Australia, Germany, South Africa or Pakistan, they won’t want to advertise to those customers.
As Google explains in its discussion forums, “No country is banned from Adsense, however there are some restrictions, for example some languages are not supported. India, China and ‘certain other countries’ – not specified – have a six month period before they can be accepted into the program.”
Keep in mind that Google seeks AdSense publishers that have the best quality sites so that when the system matches adverts to the published content, the advertisers are going to be satisfied with the traffic produced by their ad campaigns. After all, the money that you earn originates with the advertiser who is paying to drive traffic to their site, visitors who will hopefully convert into buyers.
Now there’s another possible answer to what’s going on with your site, of course, and that’s simply that it just doesn’t have enough traffic to produce any revenue. If you’re only seeing 5-10 visitors each day and are going to end up with a 0.5% click-thru rate, half of whom are going to be ineligible due to either not matching the geographic profile of the advertiser or just being rejected due to paid-click matches, that means that to see ten valid clicks it’ll take almost half a year!!
(how did I calculate that? If we assume 5 visitors per day, that means we’d see 200 visitors in 40 days. 0.5% of them click on an advert, so we need 80 days for a single click, and if half are ineligible, we’ll need 160 days for a single valid click to earn $0.08 or so. Clearly not a good way to earn any money at all)
Anyway, perhaps you can write a bit more here about your specific situation, so I can offer a bit more advice? Specifically, where are you based, where is your site hosted, what’s the theme or subject of the site, and how things are going now that some time has passed?
sorry, but I don’t find this article at all useful. I’m still confused why my site isn’t earning any money through adsense even when i have visitors?
Hey Tom, I wrote up a entire article about your question! 🙂
https://www.askdavetaylor.com/how_much_money_should_i_be_making_with_adsense.html
Hello Dave,
I get ~130.000 views per month and for 30 days of using AdSense I earned 60$, is it a lot or not? I used to ask my visitors to click the ads, but after that I got a warning from Google, so I stopped, hehe.
Also I wanted to ask you, is there any site that pays you for posting something? I mean, not reviews (I suck at it), but something already finished. For example, somebody wrote a text/review and want me to post it at my blog for money. Does such thing exist?
Sorry for lame explanation, but I hope you’ll understand my question.
Best regards.
Suzan, it’s so hard to say. If you’re looking at 20K page views, how many ad impressions are you seeing? They’re often not the same. If they are the same, you’re seeing 30/60K which is an eCPM of $0.50 which isn’t radically far off base, depending on what you’re writing about. And that’s another factor: some topics (like “DUI defense lawyer”) have far more valuable ads than other topics (“free coloring pages for your kid”). I’d look at a) how many ad impressions you’re serving up, b) what % of visitors are from overseas (as lots of them are discounted because advertisers target Europe, USA, Mexico, etc) and c) what topics you’re writing about and how well the adverts match up. Good luck!
Hi Dave – I average about 20,000 to 25,000 page views a month – and am making so little it’s not worth mentioning – but I will – I think it’s now at 30.00 for 3 months – is this normal?
Many thanks
Kind regards,
Suzan
