I have my Sonos system all hooked up, and it’s a really great system. I have iTunes, Rhapsody, and even that Hawaiian streaming Internet radio station you mentioned in one of your other Sonos articles. Here’s the problem: I’m having a party to celebrate the beginning of summer, and I’d like to set it up so that every zone plays the same thing for the party. I can’t figure it out. Help!
Luckily, this one is simple, so you can spend your pre-party time planning food, playlists and who you want to, um, get closer to at the end of the evening, instead of trying to figure out how to link zones. Here’s all you have to do…
In the Sonos Desktop Contoller, look on the left side and you’ll see all your zones listed:
Highlight your first zone, and click on the little, easy to miss tab on the bottom left, called “Link Zones.”
Click the zone you want to link the first one to, and you’ll have the same music coming out of each of them. There’s even a “Party Mode” that you can use to link all the zones together right quick, which is exactly what I think you want.
Done with the party? Use the “Drop Zone” link to break them apart again, and get back to cleaning.
That should get you going. Hope you enjoy the party!
