This is part five of a complete walkthrough of all boss battles in Ubisoft’s Prince of Persia. The walkthrough was created while playing Prince of Persia on the Playstation 3, but will translate fine to the Xbox 360 version as well.
When playing through keep in mind that the number of times you’ve fought a boss will determine on how tough each boss battle will be, so the locations do not really matter much.
This is the fifth of a series of Prince of Persia walkthroughs we’ll be publishing here on Ask Dave Taylor, all written by gamer Alex Juel.Like to read the entire series? The First Battle at the City Gate in the City of Light
By talking to Elika before your first fight with The Warrior, she provides no useful information about how to defeat him, and pretty much insinuates that the stone boss is invincible, but as you know, there’s always a way. If you just can’t figure out how to get past this big guy, read on.
Right when you start fighting him, Elika will mention that you need to use the environment against The Warrior. As you probably already know, The Warrior can’t be harmed by Elika’s magic or by using your sword. So the first thing you need to do is learn how to deflect his attacks by blocking at just the right time.
This is easiest to learn by holding Block until he hits you, then release it and hit Block as he swings the second time. This stops him for a second and allows you to use your Acrobat move to roll under his legs and knock him to the ground. Getting the hang of this is vital to beating this guy the easiest way possible.
Now that you have the moves down, it’s time to kick some butt. First, back up close to one of the ledges. The stone guy will follow you anywhere you go. Now here’s where you use your tricks.
Prince of Persia Walkthru: The Warrior at the City Gate
Deflect his attack, roll underneath him and attack him with your sword. If you can knock him close enough to the ledge, Elika will use her magic to stop the stone guy from stomping you to death and this will push him closer to the ledge. If he doesn’t fall over the ledge here, immediately hit him again with your sword and this should do the trick. The prince will finish him off and your home free. Now that was an easy fight, wasn’t it?
Battle at the Tower of Ahriman in the City of Light
This battle is almost the same as the first. You still have to try to get The Warrior close to the ledge so that you can knock him over.
The first time you fought The Warrior you were able to use your Acrobat move to roll underneath him and begin your attack, but this time around, he won’t let you do your roll as easily and instead will just smack you away.
Don’t worry though, there’s a much easier way to beat him.
What I did here is about as simple as the first battle. Just get close to the ledge until he hits you to the ground and tries to stomp you to death. After you win the struggle, you’ll roll underneath him and he’ll end up close to the ledge.
The Warrior at the Tower of Ahriman
You can try to attack him with your sword right away or use Elika’s magic to start a combo. I find that using Elika’s magic was the easiest to do. The Warrior should go right over if you can start a combo attack.
Battle at the Tower of Ormazd in the City of Light
This battle is fairly obvious from the beginning. The tower is falling apart and Elika flat-out tells you that you need to push The Warrior into the pillar. If you push him into each of the three dilapidated pillars located in the corners of the room, you’ll be on your way to collecting more light seeds in no time.
Here’s the strategy. Walk back as far as you can get to one of the three pillars. There are actually four pillars, but one is made of brick, so you’ll never be able to break it. Anyway, now that you’re close to one of the pillars, just let The Warrior hit you. He’ll knock you to the ground and then try to stomp on you.
You’ll fight back and end up rolling underneath him. Now he’ll be closest to the pillar. Immediately try to take a couple steps towards him so that you’re close enough to use Elika’s magic and then strike with your sword a couple of times if you need to.
If he changes state constantly before you have the chance to use Elika’s magic on him, hit him with a sword attack first, then use Elika’s magic. If he does this, you may want to try giving it second before attacking to see what he does.
The Warrior at the Tower of Ormazd
This should be enough to beat him within 5 minutes. Once you get the hang of it, you’ll realize how easy it really is.
Battle at The Queens Tower
This battle is one of the easiest against The Warrior. As soon as you begin fighting, a large door opens up on one side of the tower. All you have to do here is walk over to the ledge and get The Warrior to follow you.
Let him hit you here and then you’ll automatically go into “Save Me Elika” mode. Tap the button as fast as possible and you’ll break free and roll under him.
Try to hit him or use Elika’s magic as soon as possible and you’ll knock him right over. This battle is about as easy as the first time you fought him.
Battle at The City of Light
Once you make it through the Corruption tentacles that The Warrior has placed along the walls, you’ll find yourself trapped in a small area with him.
This fight really isn’t much different from the previous battles with The Warrior. This time there is a little caged area in which you have to trap him.
Just back into the little area and do the same thing you did all the other times you fought him. Back up against the wall, let him hit you and fight through the struggle. You’ll roll underneath him and there’s your chance to either use Elika’s magic if you get close enough, or you can try to hit him with your sword.
The Warrior at the City of Light
If you knock him back far enough, you’ll push him up against the wall and you’ll roll out and hit the switch, trapping him in the cage. Then you can save the fertile ground and he’ll dissapear. Now on to the final battle at the Warrior’s Fortress.
The Final Battle at The Warrior’s Fortress
Here we go. The final battle with the Warrior. You’ll land on a square platform in which you’ll have to knock The Warrior off again. The whole thing will be surrounded in Corruption except for one small part on one of the sides.
Back up against this small area as far as you can go and let The Warrior hit you. You’ll enter a struggle and when you win, you’ll roll underneath him and get your opportunity to knock him off.
Take a couple steps closer to him and use Elika’s magic to begin a combo or you can try striking him with your sword. You should be able to knock him off and he’ll fall into the lava. This isn’t it though.
The Warrior at the Warriors Fortress
The ground will begin to fall and you’ll land on another platform. The Warrior will come back out of the lava, this time on fire. The fire doesn’t really change anything though. All you have to do here, is just wait it out. The fire is slowly killing him, so just run around ’til he dies. That’s it. The Warrior’s dead.

I’ve just bought the pc version a few days ago for $15. I can’t get past that warrior in the city gates either. Everything I’ve seen either doesn’t give enough information or is for the console versions and just says press “X” or “square” really fast. I’ve left clicked so much/fast that I’m surprised my mouse isn’t broken. If you’ve gotten past this part ON THE PC please pass some info this way.
I am using PC for Prince of Persia and having real trouble pushing the warrior off the edge Tower of Ahriman City of Light. Have managed to get him at edge by pumping my mouse sooo hard but he still manages not to go over!!! Even i pressed the left mouse button so fast when sword icon blinks, he pushes back.. I am very frustrated by it all….
Thanks alot, i literally fought the warror for half a f*ing hour, got bored and checked ask dave taylor. turns out i wasn’t tapping X fast enough, i watched the video and realized it was possible to win the struggle when he tries to squish you.
