How can I consolidate audiobook tracks in iTunes?

I listen to a lot of audio books on my train commute into Boston, buying used CDs and ripping them into iTunes, then copying them onto my iPhone. Problem is, I can end up with 80, 90, 100 or more tracks and sometimes it’s crazy how they aren’t played in order, driving me insane! Not good. I have heard that there’s a better way to import audio books into iTunes, something about consolidating or merging tracks, but don’t know how to do it. Do you know this secret, Dave?

Can I export my Facebook calendar events to iCal?

I get a lot of Facebook event invitations and while it’s not too hard to go to the Facebook site and see my calendar there, I’d love to have the events show up on iCal on my iMac. Is that possible?

How do I delete a Foursquare venue or place?

I’ve got a real problem, Dave. My college-age son had a party in my house while my younger children and I were on a trip and now I find that my house is a venue in Foursquare called “Party House”. I don’t want that. At all! How can I delete my house as a Foursquare venue??

I want to have a conference call with two colleagues via Skype but while it’s pretty straightforward to set up a call between two of us, I am not clear how to add the third person. Do we need to start out with a conference call or chat room for this to work?

How to work with Spaces on your Mac

I’ve been working with windowing systems on computers, graphical user interfaces, for over twenty-five years. My first taste was the MIT X Window System back when Apple was selling the Lisa and Microsoft was trying to get people interested in something called Windows 3.1.
One of the very best features of the X Window Systems (or “X Windows”) was its virtual workspaces, where you could “virtually” have as many monitors as you wanted, and could use simple keystrokes to switch between them.
This feature is included in Mac OS X and has been for a long time, and it’s called “Spaces”. If you don’t already use it, you’re really missing out on one of the gems of the Mac system, a feature that’s pure gold for productivity in my opinion…

I’ve had a Netflix subscription since I got my iPad so I could gain access to their streaming movie library, but I now realize that I haven’t actually launched the Netflix iPad app for over a month. So it’s time to quit Netflix. How do I most easily do that, Dave?
