What are Twitter hashtags?

I am just getting started on Twitter. Would you explain what are hash tags, how do they work and how are they used?

Review: iFrogz 3G Luxe Apple iPhone case

I’ve gone through an amazing number of iPhone cases in the last year or so, between the ten or so I reviewed for the first gen iPhone and the cases I’ve been sent for the newer 3G phone. At first, my iPhone cases of choice were the rubberized ones like those from InCase Designs. (they call it a “form-fitting, injection molded material”, of course, but to me it’s just a fancy sort of rubber)
Then I realized that since I like to slip my iPhone into the front pocket of my pants, I’d often end up with the case collecting lint. Not so good, so I moved to harder plastic shells, but didn’t really find any that I loved. Well, I like the Griffin Wave for its mix and match capabilities, but not enough that I haven’t kept looking.
Until iFrogz generously gave me a couple of their 3G Luxe cases. What can I say, these just ROCK!

What’s with the Skype Windows Warning Notice?

I was using Skype the other day on my PC and suddenly Windows Security Center popped up a warning message telling me that my computer was infected by a virus and that I needed to install a repair utility of some sort. Huh? What’s that all about, Dave?

How to Host a Great Meetup or Meeting?

Earlier you talked about the online aspects of how to host a social or business meetup, talking about how to pick a venue, coming up with a group theme, scheduling, and how to actually invite people or spread the word about your event. (see how to organize a meetup or meeting). All very helpful, but please do share, how do you have a meetup of people who probably have never met each other run smoothly?

What does the “m” prefix on a domain name mean?

What does an “m” appearing before “www” mean? Seems like here lately, when I get online and go to yahoo, I am seeing the “m” appear… what I am seeing come out of nowhere is: http://m.www.yahoo.com What is that m all about? Where is it coming from? Does it mean anything?

Can I save Mac OS X updates for my network?

I administer a network of about twenty computers and would like to have more control over how system updates are applied on the machines, so I always know the state of each system. Is there a way I can disable automatic updates on the computers and instead just save the updates on a central server and apply them manually?

How do I copy a music CD from Apple iTunes?

My kids are really into High School Musical and Miley Cyrus, to the point where we bought them the soundtrack and they promptly broke the CD squabbling over it. I know I could buy a couple more but that’s pretty expensive! Is there a way to just use iTunes to dupe a music CD so they could listen to the copy and we’d keep their Hannah Montana music (etc) safely stored away?

How do I lock my Apple iPhone?

I’ve been reading all of your extensive iPhone help on the site and found it a great boon to learning how to do things. I can’t find any info on how to set up my phone to require a code be entered before it’ll unlock, however. Do you have information on how to lock an Apple iPhone?
