A reader writes, presenting a curious puzzle:
“I am currntly enrolled in a web design class using your book, Creating Cool Web Sites. I have recently install Office 2003 and seem to have lost my notepad. How can I get it back?”
That’s most weird. Have you checked the standard path to NotePad on your system?
Start -> Programs -> Accessories -> NotePad
If you aren’t finding the application there, try using
Start -> Search -> All Files and Folders
and type in “notepad” to see where it’s been hidden.
Then create an alias and drop it onto your desktop.
Also note that there are lots of nice shareware and freeware replacements for NotePad if you’re willing to download some new software. I recommend that you check out somewhere like download.com and search for “notepad” to see what choices there are.
Notepad usually resides in Windows\system32\ [XP] or Windows\ [98]
