It’s really the most curiously named iPhone and iPad stiff lightning cable / stand, from a company called [FUSE]chicken (really, that’s their name) but once you get your hands on this gadget, you’ll realize, it’s actually pretty darn slick and useful, particular if you want a simple second screen capability or use your iPhone while in the car.
Better yet, I also got the backstory on the product and company name from [FUSE]chicken founder Jon Fawcett, as I share in the video…
I question your $19.95 quote for the iPhone 5 version of this product. I went to the site and they want $34.95. For other platforms it is $19.95 or cheaper. What is so different about the iPhone 5 that the price is so much higher for virtually the same use bobine product?
That’s a great question, Jim. I’ll ask them to respond…
Jim,
That’s a question we get asked a lot. The 30-pin iPhone and MicroUSB versions are $19.95 because their costs are much less for us to produce. The connector alone costs us more in manufacturer on the lightning version than the entire product does for these other 2. I hope this helps explain it. – Jon, Fuse Chicken founder
