When Dell sent me the splendid XPS 12 laptop hybrid [see my review] the company included a monitor that absolutely dwarfed the unit, the brand new UltraSharp 4K UP3216Q, a monitor so big that it’s like sitting in front of a television screen, not a computer monitor at all. With its breathtaking resolution of 3840×2160 pixels, it’s capable of working at 4x the resolution of an “UltraHD” screen, and with its extraordinary color precision, what you see is exactly what you’ll get for graphic design professionals.
Where the Dell UP3216Q really shows off its capabilities is when hooked up to multiple computers, as I demonstrate by quickly flipping between Windows 10 running on the XPS 12 in tablet mode and Mac OS X running on a MacBook Pro. Both immediately adjust to the resolution and offer up huge gains in productivity. Or you can just use the extra screen real estate to watch your favorite soccer match through Sling.TV, as I briefly also demonstrate.
But enough talking about it. Here’s my video review of the Dell UP3216Q UltraSharp 4K display monitor:
You can learn more about the unit at Dell.com but (shhh) if you want to get one for yourself, you’ll save a lot of coin by just going directly to Amazon.com instead. Here’s a handy link: Buy the Dell UP3216Q at Amazon.com
Disclaimer: Dell sent me the UP3216Q monitor for the purposes of this review. And they ain’t never getting it back. It’s that amazing. 🙂
