This is part two of a complete walkthrough of all boss battles in Ubisoft’s Prince of Persia. The walkthrough was created while playing Prince of Persia on the Playstation 3, but will translate fine to the Xbox 360 version as well.
Keep in mind when playing through yourself that the number of times you’ve fought a boss will determine on how tough each boss battle will be, so the locations do not really matter much.
This is the second of a series of Prince of Persia walkthroughs we’ll be publishing here on Ask Dave Taylor, all written by gamer Alex Juel. Read the other entries here: Prince of Persia walkthrough: Beating Elika’s Father, the third: Prince of Persia walkthru: Defeating the Alchemist, the fourth: Prince of Persia walkthru: Defeating the Concubine, the fifth: Prince of Persia walkthru: Defeating the Warrior, and the sixth: Prince of Persia walkthru: Defeating Ahriman.
The Hunter at Kings’s Gate in the Ruined Citadel
This boss doesn’t really do all that much and is probably the easiest boss in the game. The first battle with him is a cinch.
The easiest way to defeat The Hunter is to toss him into the air using your Gauntlet and then performing a combo. This is all extremely simple if you deflect his attacks with your block button. Use your Gauntlet immediately after you deflect an attack and you’ll be able to jump right into a combo move.
Do this a few times and he’ll run away. The first fight with The Hunter is definitely the perfect boss to learn how to do battle in this game, because he’ll give lots of openings and isn’t very tough. He’s very easy to learn how to deflect attacks on too.
The Hunter at the Sun Temple in the Ruined Citadel
This battle against the Hunter is a bit tougher than the first. You’ll meet him as you’re jumping from the power plates where he hits you and knocks you into the platform.
Prince of Persia Walkthru: Hunter at the Sun Temple
This fight will be similar to the first in that you want to try to toss him into the air using your Gauntlet move. If you can get him into the air you can start a combo and start wearing him down.
It’s not as easy to start a combo this time around though. What I’ve found to be the easiest way to begin an attack is by using Elika’s magic. Once you hit the Hunter with her magic, immediately use your Gauntlet to toss him up.
If you happen to attack him with your sword instead of using the Gauntlet move, he’ll usually block it every time before you get a chance to cause some real damage.
This time, the Hunter will also blind you with Corruption. All you have to do here is hold Block and walk away until it wears off. It only last for a few seconds.
You can do this until his blood is halfway gone and then he’ll jump to a higher platform, where the Fertile Ground is located. Now you’ll have to navigate your way up to him by climbing the walls and avoiding the moving Corruption blobs that are on the walls.
When you reach the Fertile Ground, fight the Hunter in the same manner you just did. He hasn’t gotten any harder so you should be able to take him down fairly easily.
Battle at Marshalling Ground in the Ruined Citadel
You can make this fight really easy. All you have to do is back up as close as you can to the ledge and let The Hunter try to attack you.
You’ll go through a struggle and you’ll break free, leaving him close the ledge instead. Now use Elika’s magic to begin a combo, strike him with your sword and you should be able to knock him off.
As in prior fights with The Hunter, if he shoots Corruption onto your screen, just block until the blindness wears off.
During this fight, The Hunter has also incorporated a new attack into his arsenal, which is changing state. Once he changes state, the only move you’ll be able to perform on him is a sword attack.
Prince of Persia Walkthru: Hunter at the Marshalling Ground
Once you hit him with your sword, he’ll change back to normal and you’ll be able to continue your attack. You can also wait out his state change by blocking him. He’ll change back to normal after a while.
Battle at The Windmills at the Ruined Citadel
There isn’t a ledge this time, so you won’t be able to knock The Hunter off. You’re gonna have to do some fighting this time.
I would recommend that you stick to the previous strategies of fighting The Hunter, which is to deflect his attack and then use your Gauntlet to toss him up into the air. You can then start a combo.
The Hunter will still shoot corruption onto your screen blinding you, which you should just wait out by blocking it. He’ll also change state so that the only way to make him turn back to normal is by striking him with your sword.
As soon as he changes state, just try to attack him right away, otherwise block until he changes back to normal.
If you find an opening, either toss him into the air with your gauntlet or hit him with Elika’s magic, sword attack, Elika’s magic, acrobatic move and your gauntlet. This should do quite a bit of damage.

Battle at Martyrs’ Tower
The Power Plates will take you straight to the next battle with The Hunter.
This fight is much like the rest. You’ll be trapped in a room and you have no choice but to fight.
The Hunter will continue to blind you with Corruption, so you’ll have to block him again until it dissapears.
When he changes state, you can either wait it out until he turns normal or get a good shot in with a sword attack.
Something new you might notice, depending on if you give The Hunter the opportunity to do this, is that he’ll try to use special moves on you. He’ll hit you with four different moves, which you’ll have to counter with a button press. If you can time your button presses just right, you’ll be able to counter attack and create an opening to start an attack of your own.
Every chance you get here, try to start a combo. I found that during this battle The Hunter was a bit tougher to begin a combo on by using both Elika’s magic and the Gauntlet, but I did get them in eventually.
I would recommend using the combo; Elika’s magic, Gauntlet, Elika’s magic, sword attack, Elika’s magic, acrobatic move and gauntlet. It’s a lot to remember, but once you get it, you’ll be kicking some butt.

For PS3: Triangle, O, Triangle, Square, Triangle, X, O
The Final Battle at The Hunters Lair
You’ve made it to the final battle with The Hunter.
This fight is actually just more of the same. You’re going to have to fight The Hunter again using the combo I’ve shown you in previous battles; Elika’s magic, Gauntlet, Elika’s magic, sword attack, Elika’s magic, acrobatic move and gauntlet.
For Xbox 360: Y, B, Y, X, Y, A, B
For PS3: Triangle, O, Triangle, Square, Triangle, X, O
Again, The Hunter will blind you with Corruption and will change state, both of which you can just hold block and wait out.
Prince of Persia Walkthru: The Hunter at the Hunter’s Lair
The Hunter will also continue to use his special moves on you, which you can counter with an appropriate timed button press if you want.
Once you take about 1/3 of his health away, you’ll come to a cut-scene where The Hunter will knock out the floor from under you and you’ll fall to a lower level, where you’ll continue the fight.
Just keep hitting him with the same combo if you can.
When you take his blood down another 1/3, he’ll knock the floor out again. Slide down the platforms and jump the gaps and you’ll fight The Hunter for the last time.
This floor is surrounded by Corruption so you can’t knock The Hunter off the ledge and you’ll continuously get yourself into power struggles if he pushes you close enough to it.
This part will be a bit tougher to pull off a combo move because the area you’re fighting in is much smaller and once you get him close enough to the Corruption you’ll go into another power struggle.
Keep trying to get a good combo in. A great one to use here is to use your acrobatic move to jump over him and then use Elika’s magic, then your sword attack, then Elika’s magic.
For Xbox 360: A, Y, X, Y
For PS3: X, Triangle, Square, Triangle
Now jump on the power plates and get the heck out of there!
