Audeze Maxwell Wireless Gaming Headset -- REVIEW

Today I'm going to be talking about the Audies Maxwell. You're going to see that they're not in this box

That's because I've actually been using them for about 20 hours so far

And I'd love to tell you about them. So off the bat comes with lots of miscellaneous cables, as you would expect

That's in here. That's going to include power cables, USBC cables

There's instructions in here, there's a way to set up the warranty or to talk to support if you need that

It also comes with a microphone. And what's cool is that you can either use this microphone or it has a built-in microphone as well, so you have two different options there

This is a USBC to USBC, you can plug it into your computer, you can plug it into your PlayStation

This is just a 3.5 millimeter auxiliary cable, pretty self-explanatory. And this is a regular USBA to USBC connector cable

Let's start with some of the basics for these headphones. Hands down my favorite part is that they have 80 plus hours of battery life

I've been using them for about 20 hours of battery life. for about 20 hours as I've said that's not 80 but I haven't plugged them in once

they were straight out of the box fully charged I'm loving them so far these are

the PlayStation and PC compatible headphones they also make an Xbox version

but Xbox to my understanding has a trademarked audio system that doesn't exist

on PlayStation or Mac or PC or any of the other consoles and that why there a special Xbox version So these are very low latency wireless headphones They have about three times the range of your

standard traditional 2.4 gigahertz headphones and that's great if you're sitting at this desk

but you got to run to the kitchen and get some water and you still want to be able to talk to

your friends on here. You want to be able to listen to music because you're in the zone and you're working. Bluetooth 5.3 has a couple of different benefits and primary

it has LE Audio which is a low energy radio system of audio transmission and

there's a whole world of exactly what the ins and outs of that do but essentially

what it does is it's better energy efficiency as well as sound quality and

these are compatible with that as well as the LC3 plus audio system style and an

LDAC and those are all very similar functions they approve efficiency they

improve sound quality and I gotta say these sound great. Another thing that I

really like is that these things are very solid. You can hear it's an aluminum

and steel frame and this band right here is adjustable to get it to fit exactly how

you want on your ears and that is either leather or pleather but it's very

comfortable when I wear it I mean I wear it for a couple hours at a time and it

does just fine. Another thing with these headphones is that they do have active noise

reduction they have noise cancelling so when you put them on if you're listening to music if you're talking to your friends if you're playing video games whatever

it is you can do it in peace getting into the weeds a little bit one of the

things that really sets these headphones apart from other competitors is that they have a 90 millimeter planar magnetic driver and basically what that

means is that these cones in here are much bigger in area size so it gives you a much fuller and better quality of audio And a lot of times you get headphones with a really small area of speaker in there

and it's just a big housing to put around your ears. Whereas these guys, they really, the entire inside of these housings encapsulates sound

And it makes things sound great. It's very immersive. So circling back to what I said at the beginning, these have about 8

80 hours of battery life. Now I'm actually not sure how long it takes to charge them all the way up, like I said, because

I've had them for a couple weeks. I haven't had to charge them once. But what I will tell you is that from the testing they've done, if you charge it for 20 minutes

you can play for 24 hours straight. I don't know exactly how that works, but I think that's fantastic

One of the worst things is if you're posted up on the couch or you're wanting to go out to

a coffee shop and do some work and listen to music and they die

then you have to figure out how you can power them and how you can get your chord to them

so that you can listen to them while they're charging. It's a headache. The fact that you can

charge these for 20 minutes while you're getting all your stuff ready to go or while you're

setting everything up on the couch and putting on a movie or something, I think that's great

Some of the functions on these headphones themselves is that it's got a couple controls down here

It has a power button and it also has a mute right here. Having a mute, especially when you're

talking to people online, is fantastic. Everybody who talks to people online really knows that because sometimes you want to say something to your partner or someone you living with or you have to take a phone call and you don want that to be broadcasted to a video game or to clients online or in a zoom call or anything like that so having a really easy mute and it really the only thing that switches on the outside housing here is fantastic because it very straightforward you don have to press a button and hope it the right one this is the mute That all you got to know Coming down here there a little dial for volume I find that really helpful

There's also a mix, since this is a gaming headset, there's a mix between headphones and party systems versus the in-game sounds

And I really like that because sometimes when you get into a party with your friends, you can't hear what anyone is saying because the game volume is so loud

or vice versa, you can't hear what the game is going. You can't hear what's going on with the game

because all your friends are yapping away in your ears. So having that integrated into the housing itself is fantastic

I'm a big proponent of that. Lastly, we just have the standard inputs

We have the 3.5 millimeter jack for the auxiliary cable. We have a USBC

We have the microphone input for this guy. And that goes in just like this

and it has a nice little indent so you always get the right rotation every single time props for that

the last button on here as you might expect as it is a Bluetooth device is the Bluetooth pairing button

and that's kind of out of the way and it fits in pretty well with the rest of the design so it doesn't

stand out or anything and obviously use that button to pair it with Bluetooth like i said i'm a

big fan of these headphones i think they're great they've become my everyday use headphones

for working, for playing video games with my friends, going on Zoom calls, all of it

I would highly suggest to them. I love the battery life. I love the construction of them

It's really hard to get solidly constructed things these days in my experience

So having a pair of bomb-proof headphones that have a long battery life and you can listen to music

you can play games, you can talk to your friends. I love it. So the Audie's Maxwell, 10 out of 10
