Turn down the volume on the world around you
0:02
That's exactly what this lets you do. Let's check it out. Dave Taylor here, and I got to admit
0:15
the world can be a loud and annoying place. You can be outside and it can be all this industrial noise
0:21
it can be cars, airplanes, or you can just be at home
0:25
and you have a screaming child, or you have kids that are really boisterous
0:30
and they always express that with volume. Now, you can spend your whole life saying
0:35
shh, indoor voice, or you can solve the problem. And I love what this company's done
0:41
This is a loop earplug. Let me open this up so you can see
0:47
And this company has made these little earplugs. So they're not earbuds, they're not Bluetooth
0:56
they're not gonna have music or anything, but they just simply seal your eardrum
1:01
so you can lower the volume of the world around you. And they have different styles
1:07
so you can actually pick how much you wanna lower that environment
1:11
I mean, just imagine if it was a really loud, noisy environment and you could just say
1:16
and it would just go away. Or maybe it was a really loud environment
1:21
and you would just like, you would just turn it down a little bit. How glorious would that be
1:26
So the company is Loop Earplugs and they sent me four different styles of their earplugs
1:33
Now, on this side, I have the three individual models. So you can pick a model and they come
1:40
they're super simple, different size ear tips, you dial in the ones you need
1:44
and then you just put them in and you're good to go, easy enough. And they also have a fourth, a brand new model
1:51
I'll get to that at the end. So let's start with these. So let's see, so this is the Loop Earplugs Quiet
1:59
And I just wanna say, the company's slogan is, live life at your volume, great slogan
2:05
So these are the Loop Quiet and they take 25 decibels out of the environment around you
2:12
You will definitely wanna make sure you get the right size ear tips
2:16
But they all look almost exactly the same. So these, in this instance
2:21
are in a little tiny white case and we've chosen the lavender here
2:25
And they just look like this, you can see in the closeup, really easy
2:31
And all you do is just put them in your ear and that ring, make sure you don't have any worries
2:36
that they're gonna get lost in there or anything, pop them out whenever you want
2:40
But you can now walk around and here's a closeup, you can see my ear, it's pretty cool
2:44
it almost looks like a piece of jewelry or something. But you can do this and I've just dropped 25 decibels
2:51
from the environment around me. So these are great for sleep, for travel, for focus
2:57
for people that are noise sensitive. If you work or just spend time in an environment
3:02
where there's just jarring loud noises, imagine putting these in and you've addressed the problem
3:08
without having to get upset with other people, without asking for children to be quieter and such
3:14
So these are the Quiet. And then I'm gonna show you the others
3:18
I'm gonna take them out of the box because they all look exactly the same
3:21
The difference is that center part has more or less dampening for different sound
3:27
So if we go to the Engage, that's these and the Engage look exactly the same
3:34
they all come in multiple colors. These drop 17 decibel and these are the ones
3:40
that are probably best for people if you're just in a noisy environment
3:44
and you just wanna just, oh my gosh, can everything just be a little quieter
3:49
Can I just turn the volume of the world down 17 decibels
3:54
What I think is funny is they say these are really good for parenting. And well, my parents, as a parent
4:00
my kids are a little old now for this to be effective, but it's tempting
4:04
But I remember those days when you had two or three or four year olds and they just were roaming around
4:09
and yelling and screaming and hollering and it was just endlessly noisy
4:14
So putting these in and dropping that 17 decibels, glorious. Now, 17 decibels isn't a huge amount
4:22
So the quiet are the most with minus 25 decibels. And then you get to these, which are the Experience
4:30
And again, they all look exactly the same. All you have here is different colors
4:34
In fact, I'll show you. So these are the black ones. They're gonna look exactly like the Switch
4:39
When you open it, you have the case with the actual ear plugs
4:47
and you have three sizes of ear tips. And that's really the whole thing
4:51
So you get the ones that match what size ear you have
4:55
And then I'll show you that these are the Experience and these drop 21 decibels
5:03
So these live in the middle between the Quiet and the Experience
5:08
So minus 21 decibels. And these, they say, are really good for if you go to concerts or if you're riding motorcycles
5:16
or if you're working in a noisy environment. These would be good for an industrial environment
5:20
for example. But imagine when you go to your next concert, being able to hear the next day
5:25
instead of having that ringing in your ears for two days. Sorry, Taylor Swift
5:29
these might make your concert that much better. But it's, again, super easy to work with
5:36
Try different size ear tips to get the ones that work best for you
5:40
Put them in and I'm done and I'm ready to go. And I can just wear these all day
5:44
and I can still hear people talking to me. So I can still be in my environment
5:50
but I have the ability to lower the overall volume. Fantastic idea
5:56
So there's those three. And I'll talk about the price at the very end
5:59
because I really wanna get to the new one that the company's just introduced
6:04
Let me put this away and move it. This, put it like this
6:10
So everything's nice and neat because the new ones they have, they got a lot of feedback from customers
6:17
saying these are really cool, but I don't wanna choose between them. I wanna be able to have all of these options
6:22
so I can have it on minimal noise reduction if that's what I want in some environments
6:27
And then in other environments, I wanna be able to turn it up and get as good as I would get
6:32
with those quiet earplugs, but with the same actual earplugs. So the engineers went back and they said
6:39
hmm, let's think about this. And so what they came up with
6:43
is actually a really ingenious idea. So again, it looks, oops, it looks exactly the same in the package
6:50
And then you take these out and you look and they are earplugs, but they're dial
6:57
You can dial in any of those three modes. So they call these logically the switch
7:02
So it's a three-in-one design. And as you can see in this closeup
7:07
might test your eyes, but you just dial the different levels of noise blocking or noise reduction
7:14
depending on how you wanna phrase it, and then you can get it for exactly the environment you want
7:20
So you can go from minus 17 decibels as if these were the loop engage
7:25
all the way up to minus 25 decibels as if they were the loop quiet
7:30
So imagine you go to, for example, an outdoor event and you know
7:35
it's gonna be really noisy like an NFL game and you know in the stands
7:39
it's just madness, it's so loud. So you put these in maybe at the lowest level
7:44
just to see how that goes. And after half an hour, you're like starting to get a headache again
7:49
It's just so loud with everyone screaming. So then you pop them out
7:53
and you dial in the highest level of protection. You put them back in your ear
7:58
and you're ready to go and be part of the excitement of the next two and three or four hours
8:04
of that football game without getting that headache, without being unable to even hear yourself think
8:10
So cool. Now, all of it is reusable. Obviously, these are not one-time use
8:15
These are something you'll keep for a long time and use a lot
8:19
They are eco-friendly. They come with multiple ear tip sizes. It's really easy to dial in
8:25
and figure out the ones you want. And I will say that makes a huge difference
8:29
So when I talk about earbuds for music, I talk about how it's important
8:33
to get the right size ear tips. In this case, it's critical
8:37
If you don't have the right size, then it's not gonna actually work very well for you
8:42
So test out different sizes with background noise and then see which ones actually give it
8:49
the most reduction possible. Really, really cool. I really like this because I really like companies
8:56
that are thinking through actual life problems and coming up with innovative solutions
9:01
And it's exactly what they've done here. So let's talk about the price
9:05
But before we get to the price of all these different products, let me ask if you could subscribe to my channel
9:11
As I hope you can tell, I get my hands on a lot of interesting consumer electronics
9:16
and I give people fair and honest reviews and I tell you the good and the bad
9:20
with lots of closeups and demos. And would love to have you subscribe to my channel
9:25
with a click or tap on the subscribe button. Give me a thumbs up if you think this warrants it
9:29
Give me a comment either way to tell me what you wish I would have also shown
9:35
And we're connected, cool. Now, this whole lineup, these are the Loop earplugs
9:41
So we'll start with the Quiet. These are the ones that give you 25 decibels
9:46
of noise reduction and these are $24.95. These are the least expensive of their lineup
9:53
Then we have the Experience and these drop 21 decibels from your environment
9:58
and they are $34.95 and these are really good for concerts and such
10:04
There's the Engage and these are your parenting ear tips or earplugs, I should say
10:10
And they will just lower all of the kid's noise by 17 decibel, might be your spouse's noise, whatever
10:16
And then finally, the Switch. And these are the premium ones because they give you all three of those options
10:25
These are $59.95 and you might think, that's pretty expensive for earplugs
10:30
but think about the fact that you can dial in how much earplug effect you wanna get
10:36
and that these will last a really long time. They're really well designed
10:41
and obviously super easy to carry. I don't know anyone whose pocket is too small
10:46
for something like that. And that's really everything. I'll say they have a lot of different colors
10:51
different models of different colors. I particularly like the lavender. I thought that was very attractive
10:56
but there's something about black too. It's gonna be very discreet and people won't even know
11:02
but who the heck cares? If you're in noisy and loud environments
11:06
and you just want things to be a little quieter, here is a solution and it's not much more size
11:13
than a couple of quarters stacked together. Super worth checking out. That's all I got
11:17
Think I might put these back in, so I'll catch you in my next video
11:21
All right, I'm out. I'm out. I'm out. I'm out. I'm out
11:26
I'm out. I'm out. I'm out. I'm out. I'm out. I'm out
11:31
I'm out. I'm out. I'm out. I'm out. I'm out. I'm out
11:36
I'm out. I'm out. I'm out. I'm out. I'm out. I'm out
11:41
I'm out. I'm out. I'm out. I'm out. I'm out. I'm out
11:46
I'm out. I'm out
