Gmail warning me about Paypal claiming to send me mail?

Dave, I was reading a message from Paypal on my new Gmail account and it had this big red warning on the top saying “Warning: This message may not be from whom it claims to be. Beware of following any links in it or of providing the sender with any personal information.” What does that mean and why am I seeing it?

Why aren’t my favicons displayed?

Hello Dave, I work on Mac OS X and I have been trying to add a favicon.ico to my website’s address bar, only to find that it only shows when I open it with Netscape or Firefox, all the other browsers like Safari and Explorer don’t seem to recognize it…. Can you help?? It is driving me mad…

SSH Tunnels? How do I use an ssh tunnel to secure my email?

Dave, I was talking with my ISP and he suggested that I use an “ssh tunnnel” when I use my email program, Microsoft Entourage, on any public wireless networks to avoid exposing my account and password to anyone who might be sniffing the wi-fi network. Problem is, I have no idea what they’re talking about, but I’m definitely paranoid about security and the idea of point-to-point encryption sounds wonderful. Can you tell me how to set this up?
