Toshiba Gigabeat F40 copies random photos too?

Hey Dave! I just got a Toshiba Gigabeat F40 and I sort of figured out how to download music onto it and all but random pictures that were on my computer downloaded on to my mp3 too - I don't want those pictures in here! How do i delete them?

Dave's Answer:

Another cool MP3 player, there sure are a lot of 'em out there, I must say! Of course, I have to say that it's hard not to accuse Toshiba of being at least inspired by the design of the Apple iPod, but then again, why not try to duplicate the best-loved features of the market leading device?

Toshiba Gigabeat F40 MP3 PlayerI believe that the specific problem you're seeing is with the photo downloading capability. As Toshiba says, "Photo Viewer-Download your favorite images to gigabeat and view slideshows. Download album covers and search via album cover."

The Gigabeat supports a couple of different ways to copy music across and you haven't indicated which you use, but I'm betting you used the gigabeat room application rather than Windows Media Player 10.

According to the manual: the only way you can copy photos or album covers across is by using the gigabeat room application, so I think it's safe for me to assume that's exactly what you used.

Unfortunately, I cannot find any support or further information on the gigabeat room program, so this is where our journey ends, other than that I suggest you check out the Preferences / Options in the program and see if you can disable transfer of photos and image data when you next synchronize your Toshiba Gigabeat with your computer.

Good luck to you, and perhaps someone with a Gigabeat can add a comment explaining what configuration options you can alter.

I have something to say, now that you mention it, but ...
Starbucks coffee cup I do have a lot to say, and questions of my own for that matter, but first I'd like to say thank you for all your efforts on this Web site by buying you a cup of coffee!

I do have a comment, now that you mention it!
