I still have a few old friends who prefer AIM so I use it as one of my instant messenger options (though through Adium, not the dismal AIM application from AOL). Problem is, I sporadically get IM messages from porn site owners and other dopes. Blech! How do I block all of these jerks so the only time I ever hear from AIM is when it's one of my friends?

Ok, I made a site for my new business and in the beginning it was automatically ranked #2 in google but now it has completely dissapeared and I simply can't get it back... what happened?@#!?? Yikes!

I've been doing some research on long-term stock pricing trends and need to find data on publicly traded companies. Any clues on where I can find this sort of information back for the last decade or so?

What I was wondering is are their stats on what percentage of users use which search engines. Out of Google, Yahoo! Search, MSN, AOL, AltaVista, AllTheWeb, and LookSmart what percentage does of the users does Google have and so on. Just trying to guage and advise customers on which pay per click medium offers the best bang for your buck. From your book Google is obviously the leader but the others have less viewers and also less advertisers I assume.

I travel a lot and often find myself needing to chat with colleagues back at the office via instant message (usually MSN but sometimes Yahoo). Problem is, I really don't want everyone else in the café using the open wireless network from sniffing the discussion. Is there some secure solution that's easy and portable?

I realize that it's probably not something suitable for a family Web site, but I'm still curious: what are the most common terms or phrases that people type into search engines?
