Dave, when we were having lunch a while back, you told me the other day that the only way to turn off the text alert was to turn off the sound on your RAZR phone, but I didn't believe it, so I asked Verizon about it. They said I can do it with Menu > select Settings > select Ring Styles > highlight Style Detail > press Change > highlight Messages > press Change....
