I just got a new iPhone 4 and am excited to get it working, but when I try to use a "Restore" from a previous backup of my iPhone 3GS, I get an error that the software on the new phone is too old. How can the new phone have software that's too old to restore from an iTunes backup??

Can I regift my iPhone 2g updated to a 3G to my 10 y/o niece to use in another state to use as an itouch without hooking up the iPhone capabilities as a phone. She is too young to have a phone. I want to clean the list up, but I just don't see how to do it on my iPhone??

This is beyond annoying: I've been using the Notes application on my iPhone 3G to keep track of different things and now that I want to get the notes of, I realize that I'm kind of trapped. I can't see any way to access them off the phone, even within iTunes, which reports that it's backing up and syncing those same notes. Frustrating!!
