Change default Windows app for a file type?
Every time I double-click on a .JPG image in Windows 7, I find that it opens up the wrong program. I don't want Photoshop, I want MS Paint to open because I almost always just want to scale or trim the photo. How can I change the default program?

How do I tell Internet Explorer to trust a security certificate?
Here's an interesting mystery for you: I wrote an article with this title back in 2005, with the original question thusly:
"Dave, I was hoping you could help on this really security alert that keeps on coming up every time I go on the Internet. The alert states the following:
Information you exchange with this site cannot be viewed or changed by others. However, there is a problem with the site's security certificate. The security certificate was issued by a company you have chosen not to trust. View the certificate to determine whether you want to trust the certifying authority. The certificate is valid and the security certificate has a valid name matching the name of the page you are trying to view.
I would be very grateful if you could help stop this security alert from appearing in future."

How do I sychronize passwords on Safari and Firefox?
A pal of mine uses a program called Roboform on her PC to keep her site passwords all synchronized between her different Web browsers and as a Mac user I figure there's got to be at least as good a solution, if not better on my new Macintosh. So how do you manage your passwords?

How do I sort my Favorites in MS Internet Explorer?
I have about 4,000 sites bookmarked and arranged into folders etc. The problem is that I want them arranged alphabetically.
I can arrange them any way I like in Windows Explorer, but that arrangement does not affect them when I click on the "Favourites" in IE. I think they did it automatically in 5.5, but it is really cheesing me off having to keep dragging them manually into alphabetic order.

How do I disable audio feedback for MS Internet Explorer?
I'm trying to play my music CD on my PC because I need to make a tape of it to send to the copyright office. So I'm running the headphones out of my laptop into the line IN on my little boombox and I'm making the tape, right, but guess what? Every time I click on a frickin' hyperlink in Internet Explorer there's this huge "click!" coming out onto the tape! How rude is that?

How do I set MS Internet Explorer as my default Web browser?
I downloaded Firefox and then found that it just wasn't for me. Hence, I deleted it. However, my shortcuts on my desktop now keep asking for Firefox when I try to open them. Did I not get it all off my machine and if not how do I go about getting rid of every trace of this browser?
