I administer a number of different fan pages on Facebook and noticed that while one of the other administrators had a "Pages" section on their About profile page on Facebook, I do not. But I can't see any way when I'm editing my profile to actually include that information. What am I missing?
My buddies and I are planning a bachelor party and we want to use Facebook, but want to ensure that Leon doesn't get wind of it or of our planning. Can we create a group on Facebook that can't be found if someone examines my profile or searches for the group?
This is super frustrating, Dave! I just hooked up the RSS feed from my WordPress blog to show up automatically in my Facebook fan page using the slick RSS Graffiti application. Problem is, nothing ever shows up and I see the error Missing publication date in 10 items in your feed. What the heck? How do I fix it?
This question is from our popular Ask Dave Taylor Club on Facebook. You are a member, right? Just click that little "Like" button and you've just (shhh) found a shortcut for asking questions, especially Facebook related...
I can't create a group in my Facebook account!!! why there is no "create a group" button on my FB Wall??
I have a popular group page on Facebook that I manage and as it's become more busy, the original name doesn't really describe it any more. Is there any way to change my Facebook group name or am I stuck?
I'm getting more into Facebook now that it has so many darn users and would like to have the people who visit my Web site and blog become fans of my Facebook page too. I have seen on some sites - yours included - that there's a nifty little Facebook box that makes it easy to "like" your Facebook page. How do I add that for my own site?
I don't know why I hadn't realized it before, but every time I've clicked "like" on a Facebook page or fan page, it's not only comunicated to my friends, but it's recorded as part of my account forever. Yikes! There are some I clicked on when I was just starting on Facebook that I really don't want to have associated with my account any more. How do I unlike, unfriend, unfan - whatever the word is - these Facebook pages??
Now that I have a humble fan page on Facebook, I'd like to have a simple button on add to my blog so people can click and become fans. Surely there's some way to do that? If so, I sure can't find it on Facebook!
I've been inspired by your Facebook fan page, Dave, and have one of my own. Now that I have it, though, I'd like to be able to inclue a "like" box on my blog so that people not only see a link to the fan page, but see a few members, etc. I have seen it done on other blogs but can't figure out what they did. Is it a Wordpress plugin?
I've read your earlier article about how to hook up my blog via RSS feed to my Facebook profile [see Import your Blog entries or RSS feed to your Facebook Profile] but I'm trying to do something slightly different: I want to import an RSS feed into a fan page I've created, so your instructions don't work. HELP!
We have two admins to a fan page (for a mothers of twins club) and were wondering how we could comment on our fan page as ourselves and not as the page admin? Every once in a while it would be better for us to interject a comment as ourselves versus the admin. How can you choose what profile you comment under?
I run a Facebook group and am considering switching it to a Facebook fan page, but I don't think it'll address my basic problem: how do I make a Facebook group or fan page interesting and lively to my online community? Do I need to have giveaways? Spend an hour each day making new postings? What's the secret, Dave?
Now that I have read your splendid tutorial on how to create a Facebook fan page (see How to Create Your Own Facebook Fan Page) I want to take the next step and set a custom URL shortcut for the page. Can I do that, or is it reserved for just the big guys in the fan page world? If so, what's the procedure, Dave?
I have the Facebook app on my Apple iPhone 3GS and like it a lot, but am wondering if there's any way I can manage my fan page while mobile, in addition to accessing my regular user account?
I have an account on Facebook but want to create a fan area for people who read my books. I know other people have "fan pages' but am unclear: do I have to pay to set it all up or what?
