How can I import a folder full of photos into iPhoto?

I've been learning more about Apple iPhoto, partially thanks to your great tutorials on the subject, but am stumped. Instead of wanting to grab images directly off my camera, I find that I need to pull in a folder full of photographs from a friend so I can have them as an event. How do I import photos into iPhoto, Dave? If it makes a difference, I'm running Snow Leopard and have Mac OS X...

How do I identify EXIF camera settings in iPhoto?

Now that I am importing photographs into iPhoto taken by different members of my family, I'd like to be able to see which camera (e.g., which photographer) was responsible for a given picture. I believe that information is stored in the "exif" information, but how do I view that in iPhoto on my Mac?...

Effectively it means I can't easily use GraphicConverter with my archived photographs. Is there some way to change settings so images always open up at "Fit To Window" zoom instead of 100%...

What digital camera should I buy?

I'm shopping for a new digital camera and can't decide between a little pocket camera that can fit in my backpack, or a bigger digital SLR camera. I bumped into your terrific Colorado Portraits.com site and am dying to know: what gear do you use?...

Why are my Mac thumbnail icons so fuzzy?

I read your note a few days ago about how to use GraphicConverter to create thumbnail icons for my image folders (see Why don't my pictures have image thumbnail icons?) and I'm using the technique you wrote about, but my icons are fuzzy and have a little turned-down corner and look terrible when I make the icons in my folder larger! What am I doing wrong?...
