How fast does Santa travel to deliver Christmas gifts?
Is there anywhere online I can track Santa's progress as he delivers Christmas presents to all the good little boys and girls around the Earth? For that matter, his sleigh must be rockin' fast: has anyone ever calculated how fast it'd need to go for him to deliver presents to every child between sunset on the 24th and sunrise on the 25th of December?

What is a "Twelfth Night Cake"?
My Mom's already talking about the Christmas holidays, even though it's the summer. This year, she tells me, she really wants us to get a Twelfth Night Cake. Um, Dave, what on Earth is a Twelfth Night Cake?

Kids write about whether Santa Claus is Real...
Is Santa Claus real, or just something us grownups invented to keep kids guessing about the presents they receive on Christmas morning? It's a question that I wrote about on my blog a few years ago (see Is Santa Claus Real?) and since then have been delighted to receive literally hundreds of comments, almost all from children, talking about their own beliefs and their "proof" that Santa is or isn't real.
I thought that in the spirit of Christmas it would be fun to just share some of the more amusing and poignant comments that have been added over the years.

What is Boxing Day on December 26?
Okay, so I'm pretty hep to the 24th of December being Christmas Eve, and the 25th being Christmas Day, celebrating the birth of baby Jesus, but what's with the violence of boxing day on the 26th? Is that just post-Christmas stress release or something? Or is it a holiday invented by retailers to help sell their extra inventory?
