I really like my Kindle Fire and have found that I'm reading more now that it's so easy to carry even the longest book with me. Some of the books I read are okay, but there's an occasional ebook that's just terrific. When that happens, I'd like to loan it to my Dad so he can sample it and either read it -- he's a quick reader -- or buy it for himself. I remember reading that one of the features of the Kindle is that you can loan people ebooks, but I have no idea how to do it. Can you explain?

Every time I go to Amazon.com I see that the Kindle version of a book I want to buy is less expensive than the print edition. Coupled with it being more environmentally friendly (no shipping, no printing, no hassle with it taking up space on my shelf) I'd like to switch over. But I don't want to buy an actual Kindle device. Is there a way to read Kindle ebooks on my Mac or PC system?

I love my Apple iPad. I think it's way better than the Kindle can ever be, and in addition to using it for games and Internet, I also want to be able to read books on the iPad, but I don't want to pay for the books through iTunes, which is expensive. It's one of the great ironies in modern technology: progress keeps rushing us towards smaller and thinner, lighter and more flexible, but every step in that direction makes our gizmos more fragile. If you're running an online business like I am, there are times when you need to connect and log in to the server to tweak or check things. It can't be helped and while the Cpanel solution and related are often splendid, sometimes I just like to get bits all over my hands as I "go old school" on my server and use a command line.

Our son traveled to NYC with my iPod Touch. I downloaded several apps for him. I'd like to delete them from the iPod for now, but maybe put them back on later since I paid for them. I'd also like to delete kids' programs, then put back on again when I see grandchildren. Is this possible? I'm thinking not possible, because when I downloaded free apps before, then deleted them when I purchased upgrades, they also disappeared from the Itunes list.
