I did all I am suposed to for puting folders and copying movies on my PSP then when I go to look at them on my PSP it says there are no videos help me

Rocco, that'd be a really great peripheral for someone to develop for the Sony PSP, but I haven't heard even the barest rumor of it existing, which is too bad. Memo to Sony: that's the main reason that people like Walt Mossberg at the Wall Street Journal never mention the PSP as a video player...

I don't get why music I download to my PSP can't be found on my PSP

Just got a new psp. Went to play a game and got the message "to start, you must update the system software" and all the buttons except "back" button are useless.

I need some help have brought a PSP told it was region free but got it and it will not play films but will play games on ringing sony it turns out it is a Region 3 is there any way of freeing up the region code

There's no way to free up the region encoding as far as I know, but this does highlight an important warning for people who are thinking that they can save money on a PSP by buying it through eBay or similar: make sure that it's coded for your own region, or you'll find that not only do UMD movies not play but that there are some games that appear to be regionally encoded too.

I downloaded the downgrader but i dont know how to start it.

umm this is outdated you CAN run homebrew on 2.0 now dude, might wanna do a quick update ;-)

Sony's firmware keeps updating - it's now at 2.60 but will doubtless change yet again as Vongo comes fully online - and yes, the firmware downgrades keep tracking along too, Mike. That's the nature of things.

As always, be careful when you use unknown source firmware for your Sony PSP as it can possibly destroy the unit and make it a "brick".

Shajuana, I don't know how you can solve that problem unless you have a wired Internet connection and can piggyback off that with your own wifi base station (they're about $40-$50 at most stores). Good luck!

Just wanted to let you know that I couldn't resist trying the Ipod driver for Win98. It works!
Paid $5 for it, but it was cheaper (and faster) than upgrading my OS. Very easy!

lol google Windows 98 drivers for PSP and download all of them to your computer then hook up your psp and your computer should automatically pick the best driver and install software for it. if Sony PSP Type A does not come up when you hook up your psp and put it in usb mode, then press the start button on computer go to settings control panel system device manager then scroll down and remove everything with a ? or ! next to it. restart and it should do it automatically. then go to my computer and there should be an E:\ drive there. (it may have a wierd picture, like a notepad) but it still works. lmgdfao! it works!

Jaime, I don't believe that the PSP is user serviceable. Instead, I suggest you seriously consider just sending your PSP in for service. Fortunately, you aren't stuck with Sony:

Dave, once again I need help, I wanted to play pokemon games on my psp so I downloaded Visual Boy Advance for PSP. I saved the folder in PSP/GAME, in the PSP the VBAforPSP appears but when I press x it says"The game cannot be played.The data is corrupted." I don't undestand, they are ROMs saved in there.Please help me.

Sandeep, to upgrade your PSP to version 3:11 select under Settings Network Update,then select an Internet connection(you need a wireless Internet connection,you can also download it in a pc just google it ex: psp updates in the google bar and press search) after you connect to the Internet it will start downloading and then the psp will restart if it didn't updated just select Memory Stick under Game and press x and it will start the update.PS:Dave if I can't reply posts please tell me

Jyro, downgrading your PSP has some inherent dangers, even more than the rather clumsy firmware upgrade method that Sony uses. If you use the search engine here on my site and search for "psp downgrade" you'll find a couple of articles worth reading!

Howard, I don't generally support downloading games because with the exception of a few demos from Sony, the downloads are all bootleg and are illegal (regardless of what the download site might tell you).

Finally, Jaime, no, you can' tuse your PSP as a wireless modem for your computer, it just doesn't have that "base station" capability, though it'd be pretty cool if it did.

Park,you save music,pictures and games in your memory stick.To save music and pictures you need a usb cable,connect it to the computer and you to save pictures you have to make folders,first make a folder called PSP then in that folder make other folders for music name it Music and save your music there.your welcome

Genereal Options:
open folder for view files
speed up my system
Set Audio Defaults in Control Panel

Mitchell wolf you do not download the internet on(i didnt anyway)you should have wireless internet is recommended and on the PSP menu next to games icon there is a Globe like thing go onto it then go down to the WWW sign then click on it

I recently purchased a portable psp at a pawn shop and it requires a security code to get into the system. I have no idea wht the code i. I was wondering if I can bypass this code or if there is a way to create my own code without knowing the old code. Any help would be appreciated.

my old psp i had i downloaded 3 games on to the memory stick 2GB but something happend to the psp so i got a new one i pit back in the old memory stick 2GB but when i try to go on the games it keeps on saying to use this content, you must activate the system. Ahmed, I am not sure about how Sony is implementing any sort of regional controls on the downloaded games/software/content on the PSP Go, but I surmise (though won't guarantee!) that you'll be fine and that there's a setting that specifies what language you want the system to operate with.

Aristote, I don't offer assistance with the cracked firmware versions and I'm pretty sure that "5.50gen-d3" is just that.

Callred, with the PSP systems I've tried, they require a power connection and can't charge via USB cord. Frustrating if indeed it is so, because I hate carrying more and more cords and can't wait for micro-USB to be an all-out standard.

Dave no disrespect but all this advice that you are giving to us are useless. If i'm wrong name one website that let us download free games,music,videos etc for an psp.If you cant do that then no one should visit this website anymore.

Ashley, no disrespect taken: as far as I know, there are no sites that offer legal downloads of PSP games other than perhaps the downloads you can buy, one game at a time, from Sony for your PSPGO. Otherwise there's no free lunch, there's no way that you can find a site that offers free downloads of games that would otherwise cost money to own.

DAVE please i have this problem which i hope you can get to as soon as possible. well my psp is hacked 5.50 GEN-D3 and i have been playing games on it but once i wanted to play prince of persiaa forgotten sands on it which required me installing a plagin i did so and now when i try to play another game it does not work iv tired every thing i know i evern removed the plugin in detail when i start a game the psp screen shows then my psp just goes off please i realy need your help as soon as you possibly can please. thank you

I have the PSP 3000 and play MLB10 The Show. I am up to the draft in the season (early June) and it won't let me get past that point. It asks if I want to continue with the draft or simulate, and picking either just shuts the PSP off. I put it in my sons, and it gets past that point. I want to download the data so I can play on another on...how do I do that??? memory stick???

I have a silver PSP slim 2000 CFW 5.50 GEN-D3! about a month ago i was playing my UMD movies and games with no problems! but then about a week from now my PSP tells me this error every time i put in a UMD cartridge (the disc could not be read) with all of my UMD's both old and BRAND NEW! my laser lens is working fine(shines a red lite through the lens) and the motor that spins the disc is still functioning well and from info of experts stating that the laser guide might be in the wrong location on the rail that moves the lens back and forth while reading the UMD disc, telling you where it should be properly positioned! i am still getting the same error!! so i am hoping that the experts here will provide options that will help me with my problem. Hi Dave, i recently just downloaded a psp version 6.35 and put it in my psp. When i want to play my games, the games cannot be found. Only the musics and pictures in the psp are still there. When i tried transferring the game into my psp by my laptop, i on my psp and tried opening the game and it says 'corrupted data'. Please help me!

recently, when i was playing games on my psp using memory stick,the screen of my psp[including the game]froze. when i pressed the home button to quit,it was continuously displaying " PLEASE WAIT".then suddenly my psp switched off by itself.when i opened it,i found that my software which was 6.35 pro had become only 6.35.and all my games on memory stick had been deleted.also the space which was 658 mb[with games] remained the same.there was no additional space. pls help as soon as possible.
