Roxio EasyCD prevents access to Win XP CD and DVD devices?I'm running WinXP Pro with three CD/DVD devices. Roxio EasyCD program nullifies access to any of the three! When I try to rip CD to MP3 the computer can't access any one of the three drives. Same when I try to play a music CD or read a data CD. I am able to cold boot and find the drives, but after I use the system for a while, it "loses" the CD/DVD drives. Dave, what's up? I asked a colleague to research this one as it was quite specific and my PC, well, let's just say that while it can run WinXP Pro, it's not quite up to three CD/DVD devices... He offers a solution that involves using the regedit program, which might or might not be more technical detailed (read "geeky") than you're ready to handle. If you are, however, here's how to do it:
If this doesn't do the trick, then it's a hardware problem, check your cabling, three CD/DVD devices does suggest things could be getting a little congested.
