Prince of Persia Walkthrough I: Beating Elika's Father

First Battle With Elika's Father

The first real fight of the Prince of Persia is against Elika's father. The best way to fight him is by getting used to the combo system of the game.

You can start a combo either by striking with your sword or by using Elika's magic. Once you start a combo, you can use any of the attack buttons to chain together combo moves.

If you can manage to get close enough to Elika's father, try either grabbing him or using Elika's magic. Start a combo and he'll take a good amount of damage. The fight should be over fairly quickly once you get the hang of it.

Fighting Elika's Father at Temple

Once you've gathered enough Light Seeds to activate your second Power Plate at the Temple, you'll find that Elika's father is already there. He's becoming transformed by the Corruption and getting more evil as the time goes on.

Keep in mind that Elika will not be helping you at all during this fight, so don't mess up a good combo by trying to use her magic.

In order to defeat Elika's father the easiest way possibe, try to catch him with the Acrobat move. Now, immediately strike him with your sword three times in a row. This will do a whole lot of damage and quickly.

Keep performing this combo over and over, and he most likely won't do anything to stop you. Once you get his life bar way down, Elika will jump in and attack and her father will then run away.

The Temple after the last Power Plate is Activated

Elika's father isn't too hard this time around.

You can attack him as normal, using either your sword attack or Elika's magic to easily start a combo move.

He also has two different state changes during this fight. One of them he won't let you use magic attacks, so try to strike him or you can let him attack you so that he changes back to normal faster.

When he shoots out corruption from his body and then turns black, you can attack him with Elika's magic easily. Once he changes, hit him with Elika's magic and start a combo. I recommend not using the sword attaack after starting this combo, because he deflects it most of the time.

Use the combo Elika's magic, Elika's magic, gauntlet, Elika's magic, sword attack, Elika's magic, acrobatic move, guantlet. You can get a lot of damage done with this one.

The Final Battle at the Tower

The first part of the final battle begins with fighting Elika's father one last time. Being his final fight, he's much tougher this time around. The easiest way I've found to defeat him is by striking with my sword.

You should be able to find some sort of opening when he's vulnerable to the sword. Keep striking until you hit him and if he blocks and attacks back, try to counter-attack. This is usually the best chance you'll have at attacking him.

After you've hit him, start a combo using Elika's magic in addition to the other moves in your arsenal. I like to start with Elika's magic, then a sword attack, then Elika's magic again, then an acrobatic move and the guantlet. This does quite a bit of damage.

Once you done about 1/3 amount of damage, Elika's father will recharge his health. You have to get in there and strike with your sword as soon as possible to stop him.

Just keep attacking him. Don't give him the chance to either recharge his health or place any magic on you. If you attack early, he'll never get the chance. This should be enough to get you through the fight.
