April 8, 2014. A day that shall live in infamy for the millions of users who never updated from Microsoft Windows XP. The day that Microsoft changed WinXP to EOL (end of life), ending all support.
If you’re still running Windows XP, you now have a big decision to make: what’s next?
I keep hearing from friends and family that I need to join Facebook, and I suppose I should sign up so that I can keep up with everyone, fellow alumni from my college, my kids, and so on. But I hate to give up my privacy and don’t want to support Mark after seeing what an unpleasant young man he was in that movie The Social Network. If I have to sign up for a Facebook account, can I at least keep things private?
I just heard that there’s a software update for the Apple iPhone. I want it! But I’m confused: how do I update the software on my phone?
I’m stumped. With my iPod I simply drag and drop the music I want to take with me from my library onto the iPod on the left side of iTunes, but my Apple iPhone doesn’t allow me to do that. How the heck do I put songs on the iPhone without synchronizing my entire (massive) music library?
I know how to change my Hotmail password in the old version of Hotmail, but now that there’s a new, fancier version, I’m kinda lost. Can you tell me how to change my hotmail password, uh, Windows live password, please?
I have a document on my computer that I need to fax to someone. But I don’t have a fax machine, and really don’t want to figure out how to configure my fax modem. Is there a reliable way to fax a document over the Internet?
I’m darn concerned! Every time I start up my Apple Safari browser, I find that the program has remembered every search I’ve done, whether from the Google search box or when I’m actually on the Google home page. What the heck? How can I disable this “feature” and regain my privacy?
I’m definitely going crazy here. I have a ton of CDs that I’ve ripped with Windows Media Player 10, but they’re all apparently in WMA format, not the MP3 format that my new Sony Playstation Portable (PSP) needs for me to listen to them. I checked and there’s no “save as” capability in WMP, so how the heck do I fix this problem?
Dave, help! My PC keeps on hanging in every interval. It shows an error that “your system is running with too little virtual memory”. What troubleshooting can I do and what fix can I apply to make my PC run without any obstacles?
