Killzone 2 Walkthru Part VI: Suljeva Village

[This is the sixth of a series of Killzone 2 walkthrus we'll be publishing, all with videos and all written by gamer Alex Juel. If you have questions about the game, please don't hesitate to post them here and Alex will do his best to answer them. If you haven't already read it, start with Killzone 2: Corinth River, Killzone 2: Blood Meridian, Killzone 2: Visari Square, Killzone 2: Salamun District and Killzone 2: Salamum Bridge, and stay tuned for subsequent parts, too!]

Here's a summary of the game's storyline (courtesy of Wikipedia): Killzone 2 is set on the planet Helghan, the home-world of the Helghast who invaded an Interplanetary Strategic Alliance (ISA) colony. Two years after the Helghast assault on Vekta, the ISA has launched an assault on the enemy's homeworld. The ISA goal is to capture the Helghast leader, Scolar Visari, and bring the Helghast war machine to a halt.

In the game you assume the role of Sergeant Tomas "Sev" Sevchenko, a battle-hardened veteran of the special forces unit Alpha Team, who are on a mission to eliminate the Helghast threat. During the invasion, Sev's unit is deployed behind enemy lines to assist the main invasion force. Responsible for securing the enemy capital of Pyrrhus, the team quickly discovers that the Helghast are a formidable enemy. Not only have they adjusted to Helghan's hostile conditions, they have also harnessed the power of the frequent lightning storms.

A cold, barren, unforgiving world, Helghan provides a ready defense with thick, acidic air, dust clouds, and violent lightning storms. Sev discovers his squad is not just fighting enemy forces - their fiercest opponent may be the planet itself.

Now, ready to get started? Great!

Badlands

SYMBOL! Run towards the bridge at the beginning of the level, but instead of crossing, go to the left side of it and look down below and to the right. You'll see a symbol on a metal object.

If you fall down into the canyon, you can get back up on a ramp at the other end.

INTEL CASE! Cross the bridge to the other side and turn directly left and follow the edge of the canyon. At the end, you'll find an intel case sitting on the ground behind a wall.

Find your teammates and follow them to the control room.

Follow Rico to the elevator and head down.

Suljeva North

SYMBOL! When you come out of the elevator, turn right and head straight down the open pathway. After passing the Intruder, you'll see a very tall tower. Go to the other side of that tower and look up at the top where you'll find a symbol.

Go back to where Rico is waiting for you and you'll find a locked down entrance that you'll have to open up. Follow Rico to the building that the cables lead to.

INTEL CASE! After going into the room with the dead ISA scout team, turn left and look in the corner. There's an intel case sitting on the floor next to the pipes. On the gun rack, you'll find the VC21 Boltgun that does some major damage if you want to pick it up.

Pull the lever on the wall to unlock the entrance and get ready to kill the Helghast that are about to come in the door.

Maintenance Office

After killing the Helghast that come into the room, search their bodies to find a new machine gun; the StA3 LMG. You can pick this gun up if you want, because it's extremely powerful. It'll kill the Helghast much quicker, but also know that it's very slow to reload.

The Helghast are now swarming the entire area, so take cover where you can. I went straight ahead out of the room and to the left around the wall, then left and onto a ladder that leads up onto the bridges above ground. If you stay on the ground, the Helghast up above will deal out a lot of damage so I recommend taking the higher route.

Make your way back to the locked entrance that you found earlier, killing all of the Helghast along the way. Most of them are carrying the LMG so you have to be careful to stay behind cover. If you don't remember where the door was at, follow the same cable that Rico followed to find the switch.

After killing all the enemies two more Helghast will come out of the door you just unlocked.

SYMBOL! Go through the entrance and you'll come to small area that gives you the option to turn left or right. Turn down the left hallway and go a short distance, and you'll see a symbol up above a doorway.

Follow Rico to the exit.

Vorslav Mining Facility

There are several snipers waiting for you outside, so once you leave the building, find cover right away. There are two snipers to the far right, one in the middle and on the right close the exit you just came out of. Look for their laser and keep moving so they don't hit you.

SYMBOL! After clearing all of the snipers, you'll find the mining facility. Kill all the Helghast here and go into the building up the ramp. After entering the facility, go off to the small area on the right and you'll see a symbol on the wall.

Work your way through the building to the control room and watch out for all the little electrical spiders.

After leaving the control room, you'll have to pull the antenna switch manually so go up the stairs. There will be one Helghast at the top of the stairs and another down in the hallway.

Once you enter the hallway, two sentry bots will attack you from above.

Go to the end of the hallway and turn the valve. This will raise the antennas. Follow Rico out of the mining facility, where Helghast will be waiting for you. You can make it out of here easily if you stick to the very right side. There will be only a few Helghast along this route.

Run into the building and get back to the entrance.

Suljeva North

After exiting the underground passage, go back to the elevator near the downed Intruder that you found earlier, which will now be on fire.

Watch the cutscene revealing that the Helghast have captured the Alpha team. Run ahead and begin taking them all out. After clearing the area, run into the building back behind the barricade near the elevator doors.

Waystation 14

When you cross the bridge and come to a gun rack, turn the corner to find a room with two Helghast watching guard. Kill both of them and turn left to find more Helghast on another bridge across the way. After killing them, two sentry bots will come up from both sides of the bridge you're on.

The Helghast will try to come through the doors in front of you, so get ready to shoot once they open it. Turn left and then round the corner following Rico, where you'll enter the train station.

INTEL CASE! Go down the stair and turn left around the shipping container where there's an intel case on the floor in front of the large dock door.

You'll have to clear this area to get to the stairway at the far end. Watch out for the Hig with the missile launcher on the stairs.

After going up the stairs that lead up to the walkway, there are two Helghast up ahead, one of them carrying a missile launcher. I found it easiest to take cover after he launches the first missile and then running straight up to them and killing them both.

SYMBOL! Run down the walkway and turn left and then left again to kill the Helghast to the side of you. Then turn around and go straight. On this walkway, you'll find a symbol off to the left high up on a column.

Continue down the walkway, turn left and run to the edge to jump on the train...

Done with this area. Stay tuned for more walkthru help on Killzone 2!
