Killzone 2 Walkthru Part II: Blood Meridian

[This is the second of a series of Killzone 2 walkthrus we'll be publishing, all with videos and all written by gamer Alex Juel. If you have questions about the game, please don't hesitate to post them here and Alex will do his best to answer them. If you haven't already read it, start with Killzone 2 Walk-Thru: Corinth River, and stay tuned for subsequent parts, too!]

Here's a summary of the game's storyline (courtesy of Wikipedia): Killzone 2 is set on the planet Helghan, the home-world of the Helghast who invaded an Interplanetary Strategic Alliance (ISA) colony. Two years after the Helghast assault on Vekta, the ISA has launched an assault on the enemy's homeworld. The ISA goal is to capture the Helghast leader, Scolar Visari, and bring the Helghast war machine to a halt.

In the game you assume the role of Sergeant Tomas "Sev" Sevchenko, a battle-hardened veteran of the special forces unit Alpha Team, who are on a mission to eliminate the Helghast threat. During the invasion, Sev's unit is deployed behind enemy lines to assist the main invasion force. Responsible for securing the enemy capital of Pyrrhus, the team quickly discovers that the Helghast are a formidable enemy. Not only have they adjusted to Helghan's hostile conditions, they have also harnessed the power of the frequent lightning storms.

A cold, barren, unforgiving world, Helghan provides a ready defense with thick, acidic air, dust clouds, and violent lightning storms. Sev discovers his squad is not just fighting enemy forces - their fiercest opponent may be the planet itself.

Now, ready to get started? Great!

Dave's Answer:

Killzone 2 - Blood Meridian

Landing Zone 33

SYMBOL! Once you land, you'll start right in the middle of a heated battle. Immediately run all the way to the left of where you start the mission. There will be a small area against the building you can enter. If you turn around, you'll find a symbol.

After killing all of the enemies behind the barricade, meet up with Narville in the middle of the street up against the barricade walls.

Narville will send you and Garza to destroy the arc tower. Follow Garza to the door you need to blow up. Set a charge, back up and pull the trigger and go into the building.

Dakurol Alley

INTEL CASE! Right after entering the building, in the first hallway, look to the right. In a small recessed area you'll find an intel case on the floor.

Continue down the hallway. There will be a small room with some grenades if you need them if if you break the crates.

When Garza stops at the end of the hallway and looks around the corner, prepare for the Helghast to come out. Once you walk around the corner, the Helghast will attack.

SYMBOL! Once you kill them all, head to the back of the alley with the chain link fence.Behind the fence and high up on the wall, you'll find another symbol.

Go to the other end of the alley and enter the building. Watch out, because there is a Helghast hiding behind the windows.

Go up the stairs and you'll come to a small room where the Helghast begin shooting into from the building across the alley.I found it's easiest to kill them all by tossing a grendade into the room and then running in and taking the rest of them out.

Go down the stairwell and load your gun before going out of the doorway.

Heavy Canal

When you enter the canal, you'll have to fight a "Heavy." In order to take him out, shoot him in the head to daze him. He'll spin around and expose the tanks on his back. Keep shooting the tanks and he'll eventually blow up.

Kill any other enemies in the canal and open up the valve.

Wollan's View

Go up the stairs at the end of the hallway and turn to your right. Head straight ahead into the small room ignoring the Helghast shooting at your from the other building.

SYMBOL! Go up the stairwell and shoot the symbol at the top, then man the machine gun. Kill all of the Helghast below. Go back down the stairs and watch out for any other Helghast.

Cross the catwalk and go into the building. Go up the stairs at the end of the room and shoot the two Helghast in the room at the top. Cross the walkway, enter the building and down the stairs.

Verudan Alley

Turn right when you go out of the doorway. Look straight ahead and kill the Helghast coming down the ramp up ahead.Don't go out into the open area, because there is a machine gunner up above.

SYMBOL! Take out the guy on the machine gun before going up the ramp. At the top of the ramp, head straight to the back wall. There will be a chain link fence to the right with a symbol behind it.

INTEL CASE! Go into the building, immediately turn left and then left again to find an intel case on the floor in a small open area.

Call the elevator and follow Garza down the hallway.

Cableway Heights

When you exit the building you'll see the arc tower up above and Helghast shooting from down below. Follow the walkway and ignore the Helghast below. You'll find your ISA team members coming to join you from the other side of the fence.

Go down the stairwell in the building and take cover once you exit. Kill the Helghast from behind cover before going out into the area they are in. Run directly to the right and you'll find a small hallway.

Enter the hallway and keep going straight. Two Helghast will come down the stairs from across the walkway.Kill these guys, go up the stairs and you'll come out behind the Helghast team waiting to attack.

INTEL CASE! You'll find a small building with a large doorway. Enter the room and pick up the intel case on the floor laying next to the stairs.

SYMBOL! Exit the room and turn completely around looking above the door, where you'll find a symbol.

Cableway Rooftops

There will be a whole lot of Helghast once you walk up the stairs to the top of the roof.I found it easiest to go straigh ahead from those steps and go up against the wall. You'll be able to kill the guys right above you fairly easily.

Kill any other Helghast in the area and reach the platform nearest the arc tower. Press the button on the platform located behind the sandbags to activate the arc tower.

There are two energy cells on the tower that you have to shoot when it opens up. Garza will warn you whenever it opens, by yelling at you to shoot it.

Make sure to keep Garza alive here, or you'll have an extremely difficult time trying to stay alive.

Phew! Made it through that level. Stay tuned for future walkthrus!
