Kids write about whether Santa Claus is Real...

Is Santa Claus real, or just something us grownups invented to keep kids guessing about the presents they receive on Christmas morning? It's a question that I wrote about on my blog a few years ago (see Is Santa Claus Real?) and since then have been delighted to receive literally hundreds of comments, almost all from children, talking about their own beliefs and their "proof" that Santa is or isn't real.

I thought that in the spirit of Christmas it would be fun to just share some of the more amusing and poignant comments that have been added over the years.

I KNOW Santa is real because on christmas eve my mom & dad were supposedly having a quick glass of wine but I saw the bags filled with toys near the stockings.

I'm 14 and last year when i was 13 i found out there was no Santa Claus cause my parents had the presents in their closet but this Christmas i just asked my parents if they could not remind me of their being no Santa and to just let me keep on believing. Seeing isn't believing

I'm testing it this year. I'm getting my parent's handwriting. Then, I'm checking the sticker thingy that says: To: From: Then checking the handwriting. If it's the same - no Santa. Not the same - Santa's real!!

Santa is real. duh, like how are your parents gonna get the money to buy the presents that are from them, then also fill your stocking? unless you're like rich or something, which not all of us are.

I am eight years old and I soooooo believe in Santa because one year I went down stairs to get a drink of water and then I saw him. He was wearing a red coat and a cherry nose so now you know I belive in Santa Claus.

Santa is real! He may not be alive now, but a long time ago, he stole from the rich and gave to the poor and that's how we got santa in the 1st place! maybe the reindeer and the big fat dude with a red suit on isn't true but santa is!

I sooooooo believe in Santa @ 11yrs old, but flyin reindeer??? Get a life. How many reindeers do u know that fly? He probably has some silencer on his petrol powered sleigh.

Hi! I have JUST found out how Santa gets round in a night for all you fellow believers! You see, there's a time difference in every country so he will have at least 3-7 hours to spare between countries! so there you go good, solid proof!

Hello im Tiana. I am 9. I do believe in Santa because for the past 2 years I have stayed up all night and look out my door and see santas sleigh flying in the air. then i try staying up all night and fall asleep. dont think that thats real? then in 2005 we were opening presents and heard bangs on the roof. we went out the front and Santa was on our roof. and it was not my family, coz they were right next to me. my dad ran around the corner and went up the ladder and rugby tackled hime. he dissapeard and we only had his suit left. We still have it though.

Santa is really nice to give all of these gifts to us but i wish he would give 2 the poor

This year I will hide a video camera by our christmas tree. I'll post it on this to prove SAINT NICK AIN'T REAL!!!

Well, I don't think he's reall because I read in the news paper that he would have to go so fast to get around the world he would burst into flames because of the friction. But you never know. The only way I will believe is when I see an actual photo of him flying in the air. And how can there be a rain deer with a red nose, I mean come on that's not posible!

hey man! i was just here to ask you if santa is real cause me and my friend are trying to see is santa real but if santa is real i will have to give her $20.00... so please tell me if santa is real or not. thank-you

i think santa is real because i was slepping in my bed one night and i heard santa and his raindeer at 2:30 in the moring then i went down stairs to look and santa was right there standing next to me it was cool but sorrta scary so there now do you belive in santa

Santa is real. I had a 6 hour-running videocamera connected to my computer during Christmas Eve. It was looking strait towards our christmas tree. I saw an odd thing. It was what appeared to be a ghostly figure at first, for about 10 minutes, then and hour later, the camera recorded a fat guy neiling down towards the tree, and then moving presents towrd it. It was the oddest thing. What do you think is the smiling ghostly figure, and what do you think the fat guy is?
