Importing AOL addresses into Kodak Easyshare?

I am trying to export my AOL e-mail addresses to Kodak Easyshare address book. Doesn't work. Help!

Dave's Answer:

Hmmm... I'm not sure whether it's supposed to work or not. I dug around in the Kodak Easyshare (formerly known as Ofoto) system and here's the best I could find in their help system:

Question: I have too many emails to add to my Album Share! Why can't I import my personal email address book to the Gallery?

Answer: The Gallery does not currently support the import of address book lists into the Friends & Groups section of an account. There is however a way to add the email addresses you will be sharing with quickly.

1. Go to your personal email application, which can be either Outlook Express, Yahoo! email, your AOL email, Eudora, or any other application you use to send and receive emails.

2. Start a new blank email and add in all the email addresses from the address book you want to share with from your Kodak EasyShare Gallery account. Have all the emails added to the TO: field of the blank email you are starting.

3. Once all the email addresses are in the TO: field, highlight all the addresses. You can either use Crtl-A to quickly select all the text in that field, or you can highlight the text you are most comfortable with. Use the Copy command or Crtl-C to copy all the email text to your clipboard. Make sure your email application does not hide the actual email address and only shows the name of the person (consult that applications Help for support), the email address must be viewable for this to work.

4. Now go to your Kodak EasyShare Gallery account, login and select an album you want to share with all of the emails you just copied. When you get to the step where you can enter in the email addresses you want to send the shared Slideshow to, move the mouse cursor over and click the empty TO: field and use the Paste or Crtl-V to paste in the email addresses from the clipboard.

5. When you send this shared Slideshow or album, all the email addresses entered will be automatically saved to your Gallery Friends & Groups.

Note: If you get any errors, review the list carefully as some email applications will show only the recipient name or nickname and not the actual email address. If this is the case, you will need to edit that list as needed to enter in the full email address. You may want to try smaller sets of emails at time for this workaround to trouble shoot any issues.

Don't forget to also read up on their (somewhat confusing, I admit) information about managing your addresses too. Good luck. You'll need it: there's not even a consistent nomenclature within the Easyshare help system, let alone on the site itself. And yet it's the #1 photo sharing site on the Web - far ahead of even Flickr.
