How do I send an event invite on MySpace? How do i send an event invite on MySpace, with a normal MySpace account? There are really a couple of parts to your question, though you might not realize it. First off, you might want to create an event, a party, concert, marathon, or snowboard competition, then you would want to invite people to attend your event. You can also send event invitations without having the event in MySpace, but I am speaking theoretically at this point because I, believe it or not, have too many friends to test out this feature. :-) Seriously. Let's create an event, however, to get started. Log in to MySpace, then click on "Events" from the top navigational bar: ![]() Once you're there, you'll see four options on the left side menu: ![]() I'll click on "Event Invites", which takes me to yet another area in MySpace: ![]() Click on "Compose" and you should be able to send an event invite to one or more of your friends. I can't, however: ![]() Seems weird to be penalized for being relatively popular (I have about 2600 MySpace friends) but I imagine it's an antispam block that they've put in place so that MySpace isn't even more annoying than it currently is in that regard. If you want to send out event invites to individuals, that's how you do it. I think. :-) To create an event, back up to the Event area (click on "Events" on the top menu bar, if you want) and then click on "Create New Event". Now you get to a complicated form that lets you specify quite a few parameters related to your upcoming event: ![]() The most important item here is in the middle left: Public or Private. If you don't want thousands of random people from the many-million MySpace users descending on your tea party, I would strongly encourage you to mark your event private! :-) Once you've filled in all the fields and entered the correct verification code, you can painfully slog through your friends list (40 at a time!!) to figure out who you want to invite: ![]() Fortunately, other than it taking me hours to wade through my lists in the tiny little window they offer, there's no penalty for having lots of friends at this stage. :-) Finally select all the friends you want to invite, then click on "Invite & Update" and they'll get a party / event invitation and you're off and running for the next Us Festival or... tea party. :-)

Subscribe to AskDaveTaylor with Google Reader. why do i have to send a confermation notice Is there a way to send out the event invites to multiple people with out having to go through each and every friend? With only 300 hundred friends and wanting to invite ALL of them, it still takes a LONG time to send it out. Posted by: Trish at December 4, 2007 6:38 PMI'm a promoter in DC and I've noticed that many other club promoters will have "events" posted where they have 17,000 members on the invite list (of course, many do not respond). But, the only way I know how to invite people to an event that I've created is to go through the "invite people" option and select the friends I want to invite. So... how do they get thousands invited without actually going the through the traditional process that I do? Posted by: Todd at January 21, 2008 6:19 PMI have a lot to say, but ...
I do have a comment, now that you mention it!
