My name is Daniel Sadownick and I am a jazz artist whose CD “There Will Be A Day” is now up on iTunes as well as other online retailers. I just joined an Indie marketing website where they can promote my record. They provide links that point directly to all of the sites where my CD is up at (i.e., Amazon, CD Baby, etc.). Now, these sites have concrete URL’s and yet my promotion site also asks for my iTunes URL. I have had no luck in finding that out and I’m hoping that you can help me.
Howdy, Daniel. You’re asking a pretty common question because the way that Apple’s designed the iTunes Store and made the iTunes program the interface to the store, it’s not at all obvious that you can do more than the obvious clicks and buttons.
What you want to do is find a place in the store where your album is visible, then press Control-click on the artwork or link. That is, hold down the Control key and click with the mouse at the same time.
Let me show you how it works…
Pop over to the iTunes Store and search for your last name, Sadownick. You’ll see a couple of matches:
Now you don’t have to go any further: just Control-click on the image of your album cover:
And the resultant URL?
It’s not pretty, but that’s what you need.
Now, for those of you reading this, Daniel’s music is terrific: go and give it a listen!
