How do I delete comments on Facebook?

How do I delete a "comment" I made on my own album in facebook?

Dave's Answer:

This is so simple that I'm a bit surprised you emailed this question to me, actually. While Facebook has a rather Byzantine organizational structure and it's common for people being unable to figure out where things are, it's usually pretty easy to figure out how to do things...

So let's dig into it and see what we can find.

But really, it's easy. Check it out: here's a comment I've left on my own photo album on Facebook:

facebook your photos comments

The key is the little grey "x" that shows up just to the right of the comment. Now, to be fair, sometimes it's not displayed until you move your mouse over that general area, but a little experimentation should reveal what you seek!

Click on it and:

facebook your photos comments delete

You do want to delete the comment, indicate so and....

facebook your photos comment deleted

I hope that helps you with Facebook. I'd also like to let you know that I have quite a bit of Facebook help here on the site and that I also have an Ask Dave Taylor Facebook Fan Page that I invite you to join.

Hello David:

I don't want all the write up from my friends on my facebook for months. How do I delete the message after I read it from my friends.

hi!
when you delete your comments on other people's photos, does it send them an e-mail to notify them?

Posted by: hannah at November 10, 2009 6:37 PM

Ok, I got on Facebook yesterday after prodding from my kids. I have many friends that have filled up LOTS of space and I want to delete their comments to clean up the page. I got your advice to click on the gray 'x'. I don't have a gray 'x' & if I roll my mouse over the right-hand corner, I get "HIDE". I do not get the option to delete. Now what?

How do I remove "like" off of my photo albums?
Every time I 'add more photos' to an album and publish them they are automatically published with allll of the previous "Like" indications from other photos from the album as well

Dave, the original question was. "how do you delete MULTIPLE comments at one time" It is quite tedious deleting them ONE at a time, so, whats the answer?

Robert, as far as I can tell, there is no way to delete multiple comments at the same time. One reason I'm not a huge MySpace fan any more...

Is there anyway I can find out who removed it. Also on my profile page it will say tha I commented on someones status, etc. It does not say that today. How could it of been posted yesterday but is missing all together today?

re: removing comments fr FB

Hi there,

You wouldnt happen to know how to remove a Facebook comment directly from your cell phone would you? (Droid 2)

Posted by: Ashleigh at June 10, 2011 9:53 AM

Ashleigh, I don't think you can remove comments from the Facebook mobile app. I don't have a Droid, but I know it's not possible in the iPhone version...

How can I remove a 'like' by an unfriended person (deleted facebook friend) on facebook? I see a couple of others have posted the same question here but don't see an answer to this. I've deleted their comment, easily enough, but don't see a way to delete the like from them, which others are able to see that person's info/name. I have my friends list set to private and don't want my friends seen by other friends, as I do business and do not like competitors stealing friends as has happened in the past.

i have some questions....if i delete my comment on my friends post in my wall it is going to erase in my friends wall or not..

I have something to say, now that you mention it, but ...
Starbucks coffee cup I do have a lot to say, and questions of my own for that matter, but first I'd like to say thank you for all your efforts on this Web site by buying you a cup of coffee!

I do have a comment, now that you mention it!
