How do I delete comments on Facebook?

How do I delete a "comment" I made on my own album in facebook?

Dave's Answer:

This is so simple that I'm a bit surprised you emailed this question to me, actually. While Facebook has a rather Byzantine organizational structure and it's common for people being unable to figure out where things are, it's usually pretty easy to figure out how to do things...

So let's dig into it and see what we can find.

But really, it's easy. Check it out: here's a comment I've left on my own photo album on Facebook:

facebook your photos comments

The key is the little grey "x" that shows up just to the right of the comment. Now, to be fair, sometimes it's not displayed until you move your mouse over that general area, but a little experimentation should reveal what you seek!

Click on it and:

facebook your photos comments delete

You do want to delete the comment, indicate so and....

facebook your photos comment deleted

I hope that helps you with Facebook. I'd also like to let you know that I have quite a bit of Facebook help here on the site and that I also have an Ask Dave Taylor Facebook Fan Page that I invite you to join.

hi!
when you delete your comments on other people's photos, does it send them an e-mail to notify them?

Ok, I got on Facebook yesterday after prodding from my kids. I have many friends that have filled up LOTS of space and I want to delete their comments to clean up the page. I got your advice to click on the gray 'x'. I don't have a gray 'x' & if I roll my mouse over the right-hand corner, I get "HIDE". I do not get the option to delete. Now what?

I have something to say, now that you mention it, but ...
Starbucks coffee cup I do have a lot to say, and questions of my own for that matter, but first I'd like to say thank you for all your efforts on this Web site by buying you a cup of coffee!

I do have a comment, now that you mention it!
