How do I delete a calendar from Google Calendar?I have added quite a few public calendars over the last few years I have been using Google Calendar, and now find that I want to trim things. Problem is, I can't see how to *delete* calendars in Gcal! This is a bit more tricky than perhaps it should be, this task of deleting additional or third-party calendars in Google Calendar. The trick is to realize that clicking on "calendar settings" in the small context-menu is useless. What I'm talking about -- the pointless path to travel -- is illustrated here: ![]() Again, that's not what you want to do. Instead, look just a wee bit further down on the left side and you'll see "Settings" below your list of calendars: ![]() Click on that and you'll get a nice listing of all your calendars and their settings: ![]() It should be no big surprise that clicking on the little trashcan icon indicates you want to permanently discard (or at least unhook) the specified calendar from your own calendar view. Pick one you'd like to axe, click it and you'll get a prompt and friendly confirmation window: ![]() Looks good? Click on "Remove" and the dirty deed is done.

Did NOT work. I did this and though the 3rd party calendar was removed from the list, all of the events from that calendar are still displaying in my Google Calendar. Worse, because I have my iPhone synced with it, they continue to show up there via the pop-up alerts I had originally enabled for that calendar - and they do it in doubles! How do I sweep them all out at once? Posted by: Rick at May 11, 2011 12:13 PMHello Dave, As far as I can tell, with the new re-design of the g-calendars, the "settings" option, that used to be listed below the list of calendars no longer exists. Now I can only seem to find "calendar settings" in the small context menu- which, as you point out, seems to be useless for deleting. I must be missing something. Any help appreciated! Regards, Monica Posted by: Monica at October 3, 2011 1:17 PMI am having the same problem on my iphone. I can not seem to get rid of a weather calender. Its driving me mad. I found it. With the redesign you have to click on the gear icon in the upper right hand corner of the screen, click on Calendar Settings from the drop down menu, click on the Calendars tab in the upper left quadrant of the screen. This brings up a list of calendars and their details. You can then either click Unsubscribe on the far right behind the calendar you would like to get rid of or you can uncheck the box for Showing it in your List. Posted by: Jason Christensen at October 28, 2011 5:45 AMI am our church's and school's google apps domain administrator, education edition. I want to delete a particular calendar but can not figure out who the owner is. I think I initially set this calendar up as a secondary calendar to my account, but the permissions (shared, edit settings etc)for this particular calendar were changed several times. It has become a nuisance, and I want to delete it. when I log in as myself and look at all the different calendars, the trash can does not appear for this calendar only unsubscribe. So how can I figure out who the owner is, or take over ownership, or just delete this darn thing. Thank you. I do have a comment, now that you mention it!
