How do I set GraphicConverter to open images in window size zoom?I'm a big fan of GraphicConverter and love just about everything about it, except that it drives me crazy how I double-click an image and it always opens up at 100% zoom, even if the image is far, far larger than my screen. Effectively it means I can't easily use GraphicConverter with my archived photographs. Is there some way to change settings so images always open up at "Fit To Window" zoom instead of 100% zoom? Of the many different shareware applications I've used on both the Mac and PC platform, I have to say that GraphicConverter is one of the best, most useful, and most confusing too. Indeed, I use it on almost every screenshot I create, trimming them down, masking private information, and so on. Nonetheless, it's also extraordinarily complicated to figure out how to modify any of the preferences for this program because there are, what, over 5000 of them you can tweak? If you've never clicked on Preferences... in GraphicConverter, you'll probably think I'm joking. But I'm not. Fortunately I know the setting you need and can show you how to modify the default zoom level of opened images. To do this, you'll need to launch the program and select GraphicConverter --> Preferences.... Now you'll see: ![]() As you can see down the left side, there really are a lot of choices. The one you want to find, however, is near the top: Display Content. It looks like this: ![]() The setting for Default Window Zoom is currently set to "Always Use 100%, scroll large images" but you want to change it to "Shrink to fit screen". While you're at it, if you have a fast enough Mac, I strongly suggest that you also change the setting for Display quality to "Best Quality (bicubic)" since it'll make the reduced size images as attractive as possible. Once you've made these changes, click "OK" and go ahead and double-click on a photograph on your Mac. Unlike before, you'll now open at Fit to Window size just as you seek!

Someone switched my default settings so that all my jpegs have graphic converter icons and automatically open in graphic converter. I'd like to switch back to the old photoshop or preview icons, and can't figure out how to do that. I have something to say, now that you mention it, but ...
I do have a comment, now that you mention it!
