I have a Logik MP3 player. How do I transfer a radio programme download from the internet to the machine. I have plugged it in the USB and it says ready, but then nothing happens. thanks a lot.
Mostly you can’t do that. Radio programs are done with streaming audio technologies and are not intended to be captured.
However, it wouldn’t be the Internet if people hadn’t figured out a way to circumvent that, so I’ll suggest that you check out the following programs:
If you’re running a Mac, there’s no better program I know than WireTap from Ambrosia Software. It’ll easily let you grab streaming audio feeds and save them in whatever format you’d like. Consider this screenshot of its scheduling feature:
Notice it even lets you schedule these recordings when you’re not at your computer, in case the streaming audio feeds aren’t archived on the desired site. Very nice!
I don’t have personal experience with streaming audio recording applications on the PC side, but my usual site for finding good Windows software, Download.com , suggests two choices: River Past Audio Capture and Anewsoft MP3 Recorder .
The River Past Audio Capture program looks like this:
and Anewsoft’s MP3 Recorder looks like this:
I think those will help you capture the radio programs you want and then produce MP3 output files that are suitable for use with your Logik Mp3 player!
If anyone has experience with these Windows applications, please do let us know how they work, what you like about them, and so on!
