How do I delete a friend from MySpace?

I saw you wrote a piece about how to delete a comment from someone you didn't like on MySpace, but that's not the problem I have. I'm trying to figure out how to delete someone from my friend list itself as I don't want everyone to think I'm still friends with this particular girl. Can you help me out, Dave?

Dave's Answer:

I think I can help you out, actually. As I said in my earlier article on How do I delete MySpace Comments?, MySpace makes it pretty darn easy to ensure that your list of friends, your comments, and related, are all in sync with your life.

To delete someone from your friends list, log in to your MySpace account and scroll down to your friends list. You'll see it looks like this:

MySpace Help: Edit Friends

No surprise here, click on Edit Friends and you'll see a list of your friends. You need to find the friend you want to delete on the list, check the little box to the left of their picture, then scroll down to the bottom of the page, where you'll see the key button:

MySpace Help: Delete Friends

Make sure you've only checked the picture/name of the person you want to remove, then click on the Delete Selected button.

Be careful as there's no confirmation dialog or intermediate page. You click the button, they're gone, *poof*, without even a wisp of smoke.

Hope you can delete this girl from your friends list and make some new friends instead. :-)

Finally, if you'd like to connect with me via MySpace, that'd be great! Check out my own MySpace Profile. Also, since you are just learning about MySpace, you might well be interested in my MySpace Help area too.
