How do I add stock quotes to my Web page?

I would like to add the days current stock on my web page. I read your answer to someones questions about adding the current weather, I would like to do the same but with stocks.

Dave's Answer:

There are a bunch of ways you can do this, including writing some software to scrape specific stock data off a site like Yahoo Finance, but there are better solutions out there, including one from Financial Content.com, a company that actually grew out of one of my own startups.

Their solution isn't very flexible, but if all you seek is the ability to specify a few ticket symbols and have a nice set of financial data on your page, then their Market Snapshot for Business Blogs and Websites could be the perfect match.

First, you specify the ticket symbols you seek:

Financial Content's Ticket Symbol entry

then you grab their JavaScript code. For example, here's what I get when I use their default set of four tech stocks:

<script src=http://web-2.0.financialcontent.com/blogsnapshot? Account=breitbart&OutputMode=js&Ticker=GOOG+YHOO+EBAY+MSFT></script>

The result:

Nice, simple, attractive and professional.

Hope that helps you get running with your own financial content on your site!
