I downloaded some songs from Limewire and after 3 weeks playing them on windows media they are corrupted and frankly speaking the catalogue is quite huge
I did have some songs in REAL player which are quite ok but I want to transfer those songs to real player or what should I do so those in windows media should play again

all in all I dont want to play those sonngs again in winmedia and I cant help to lose those songs

Don't have a clue what's going on, John, but realize that at least 90% of what you'd download in Limewire or a similar P2P application is probably an illegal copy. As a result, it's not unlikely that you picked up a corrupted version of the file and/or even some viruses or spyware. I'd check for all of that, make sure your computer is clean, then seriously consider just deleting these bad mp3 files.

I dont know what happen to my computer the other day but now I have no sound at all. I have tried loading my drivers but to tell you the truth I think I messed it up more then it was. I have the "Creative labs CT 5803 Sound Card" well thats what I saw inside my PC and I have a "Diamond mutimedia speedster a55 I think for where I plug in my mic, speakers, joy stick etc.... I am at a lost on how to fix sound. I use the Windows 98 system. Thanks for all your help in this matter.

Hi Mary. Not to ask an obvious question, but everything's plugged in, right? And you don't have "mute" selected in the sound pop-up? And you've gone into START -> Settings -> Control Panels -> Sound and made sure nothing looks odd (like volume=0) ??

I have checked everything! Obvious and not so obvious...Reloaded devices & drivers, checked BIOS settings and NO ONE can help... I have tried Kelly's reg tweaks, updated drivers, replaced .wav files...Checked all volume sets, reconnected speakers 5.1 srr,,,Nothing works!! I have XP Home SP2; Creative SB Audigy 2, MP10... Mucho Ram, Great processor...P4 3Ghz just no logon or off; I do have some of the other annoying sounds though (balloon remider noise; error noise!!) Any thoughts???

They were playing just fine until the other day and then suddenly nothing would play when I clicked on it. I know it's not a sound problem because I still get sound on my media player. I am having a problem with Windoews Media zcenter in that when I watch live tv, or recorded tv, the sound is all out of whack and seems to cut in and out. Commercials, for example, are very loud, but the program itself has minimal volume for voices and such (while the background music is much louder). Is this a problem with my speakers or is there somethin wrong with Media Center itself?

Hi. Just got a laptop with pre-installed vista home premium and every track change in windows media player is preceded by a horrible cutting in and out of the sound. Have tried with the crossfader on and off, and everything I can think of. I'm wondering if it's a microsoft ploy to get me to call the $40 help line as there's no help there. Could it be that microsoft is having compatibility issues with itself? If you have any ideas, advice would be appreciated.

Dave, I had a nasty trojon that may have corrupted windows media player. I went to the windows media player site to see if I could find a fix. I found nothing of value there. When ever I try to play any music I get a error code cood11b1. Is there a solution with out spending $$ on a computer tech or completely wiping my hard drive. I lost the cd. lol thanks

I recently installed Vista Home Premium on this PC and since installing it can not get Windows Media Player or MMJB to recognise that I have a 5.1 Sound system.

I have both a Realtek HD Audio card on main board and a Soundblaster Live USB external card, but on both all the sound I get is from the left/right speakers and sub-woofer.

Realtek is set as default sound system and on both cards, the Test mode from control panel finds the full set of speakers including center and l/r rear speakers.

Any ideas? Worked fine under XP.

I am going nuts with a sound problem on my Windows XP machine.

It came pre-installed with Realtek and all songs which play on Windows Media Player on my other pc - and play with perfect sound - are getting echoes and over-loud background music and other things - when played on WMP on my XP machine.

I suspect it's due to something that Real Tek is doing but I cannot figure out what. Is there any fix for this, short of uninstalling Real Tek? I really don't want to do that unless there is no other option, because it came pre-installed.

I'm fed up of the echoes which make the singers' voices almost impossible to hear.

to add up to my post, the player can actually play the DVD but it can only show the videos but there are no sound coming out of it.

Note: This only seems to be a problem on Dell machines.

I've had a problem for months where Windows Media Player 11 has been playing sound out of only one speaker. All the balance settings were centred and I had no problems with any other program, just WMP. Today I clicked on the balance slider on WMP's Graphic Equalizer and the left speaker sprang back into life. I didn't move the slider at all as it was already in the central position; I just clicked it. If anyone's having a similar problem, it may be worth giving that a try.

open your limewire files and transfer then to a seperate folder. i keep a folder named "music" and have it set up as my default save folder in limewire. I have been using limewire for 8 yesrs now and never had a problem. you just have to be carefull and select files with high (stars) ratings. you should configure your limewire to the way you want it. I have i tunes as my default player instead of the standard limewire player. you can also limit who can acess your files, and how many. (if any) good luck. Wulfgang

Heres my problem, one that I really don't quite understand. I have limwire and downloaded many songs and usually put them in my windows media player. The family have done this two accounts on the computer. After maybe 4 months of enjoyment, the computers sound decides to start skipping. Yes even when we watch youtube our sound will stop for a second and then start back up. Im not sure if this contributes to problem but If anyone could help, PLEASE GIVE some feedback.

I have just bought a new computer package from Dell and I find the downloading video clips (the short free samples you can download from the net) takes a very long time. I have Vista on this new computer. I never had that problem before. The Dell tech told me this is a problem that Microsoft is aware of and trying to fix. Not good enough. Is this true and is there a fix?

DVDs have always played fine on my Inspiron E1405 with Windows Media Player as long as I used the regular player instead of the installed "cool" version.

Suddenly, something has changed. All my DVDs now sound like they are underwater.

I tried restoring my machine, but no luck.

I'm not sure how to deal with the sound card issue...can I take it out and put it back in, or do I risk losing it all together?

Should I uninstall windows media player and reinstall?

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hey, i'm having stuttering issues with my audio. Before i take it to a shop, i was wondering if there was anything i can do personally. I use windows xp, 512 ram, about 180 gigs. I've tried everything from defragmenting, updating drivers, re installing--checking for spyware and what not. If you have any suggestions, i'd love to hear them. The only thing left i can think of is buying a new sound card.

I have a desktop computer but my windows XP are not genuine which I didn't learn about until after I couldn't even get in touch with the person who installed it. A few months ago something happened and I got no sound since then. It probably wiykd have been easier if I had no sound at all but it does work in certain programs, on/off windows etc. It doesn't work in any meadia player/real player/quick time player, iTunes, streaming video/audio. I have no idea what to do, I tried everything I could. Re-installing wmp didn't work as my windows are not genuine and the installation can never be complete without verification. This is really frustrating but I know no one who could help me with this.

I just got a Dell Notebook with Windows Vista and Media player 11 this week and thought that I would try putting some music on it. When I play a cd or rip it, the sound quality is horrible. It is choppy and distorted. I tried changing various settings with no luck. Yesterday, I contacted Dell and they had me uninstall the Sigmatel audio system then reinstall, no luck. I tried playing music through Dell's music player with the same problems. At this point I do not know if it is a Vista problem, a Windows Media problem, A sound card problem, a speaker problem, or the cd player itself. If I play audio from the internet I do not experience this problem unless it is with video. I'm at a loss and extremely frustrated about what to do. Any help would be appreciated.

When I play WMAs or MP3s using Windows Media Player ver. 11 (latest), my music files sound like they are skipping (like a record) or are very scratchy. They use to play just fine on my Windows XP, Creative Audio sound card. In some instances, like U-Tube videos, the sound is just fine, but other online videos, the sound is similarly terrible. I have checked all my software settings and physical wire connections. All is good and in working order. I can play a Music CD and it sounds fine. Any ideas on why music files on my computer sounds terrible scratchy?

my sound on my p.c was working now is not what can I do to fix it.

When wmp is maximized from the minimized version it hides imbedded in the r/h margin of my desktop and will not return to full screen. It plays songs and videos but I have no access to the controls and cannot see the visulation screens. I can't get it back on my desktop. I uninstalled it completely and re-installed 10 and 11 and the result is the same. Booting and virus scans are no help. Can you help?

I just upgraded from a small Dell laptop with XP, to a larger new model with Vista. Much larger hard drive. I am a DJ and I use Windows Media player with the crossfading feature as one of my main audio sources. Never had this problem on the older model, but there is a nano-second pause while cross-fading into the next song. It is very noticable & frustrating. Please help.

I'm having a problem with syncing my music to an sd card. I'm using windows media 11 and transferring to a 2 g card. no matter what i try i cant get more than 134 songs on it. Or any other card for that matter. I have to store the files without folders since my mp3 requires it. I've tried mp3 & wma files. Same results either way. Any help would be appreceated.

Hi Dave. This seems to be a Windows Media player problem.I have anusual issue here. When I play some email video attatchments or some from my cbc news home page I get different experiences. All will play the video aspect but "every other" will have no sound. Funny thing is , I can send the ones that dont give me sound, back to the sender or another person and they can play it and get sound where I could not.Any input would be appreciated. ds

The Windows media player i have will not play sound with any type of file. The soundcard drivers are up to date, i am using XP {fully updated}, all other sounds are perfectly audible - i am currently using realplayer to actually listen to music and watch videos... WMP won't even work in internet browsers. I have reinstalled WMP form v10 to v11 and back to v10to try and fix it but to no avail... Playback is normal apart from being devoid of sound. Any help would be appreciated.

so ok, I was trying to upload a new skin, and I somehow messed with wmploc.DLL file, replaced it with a different one etc., then it started giving me the message about the wmploc.DLL file being one version when a different one was expected, so I tried to uninstall the player completely (so I could reinstall it later), WMP is not on the list of the programs installed on my computer, but the WMP folder still remained in the Program Files folder. the problem is:
I downloaded the WMP 11 for XP (because there was nowhere I could find to download the WMP for Vista from), and now it says that the version of the player I got installed on my computer (which I supposedly uninstalled) is a newer one, and I can't install an older one or repair an existing one.
When I try to start the existing player it says that it is not installed properly and must be reinstalled. it asks me whether I want to install it from the Microsoft website, I click yes and it sends me to a page where I can download only WMP11 for XP.
When I click the setup_wm.exe in the WMP folder, it connects somewhere (I guess Microsoft) and tells me that I have the most recent version installed already and that there are no updates available.
so these are my problems. I really, really need somebody to help me with these things, because now not only WMP doesn't work, but my Media Center as well (I can't play music or watch DVDs in it) and tons of other problems.
please-please help me!!)

I'm trying to record my voice to my pc and I've tried everything, with no success. I have Audio set at MICROPHONE & Voice set at MICROPHONE in Sound Recording Properties. At least now I can hear static & see the wav lines move when I speak in my microphone, but the playback is only static. (Not even garble of a human voice.) What am I doing wrong? Can you help me?

How can I get rid of the message saying bad immage, do you think it's best to do one click fixes? Also I'm currently trying to work on some music videos, one has already been done but it says it can't play it when I double click.
The icon for real player or windows media player it says, that it can't play the file because it's not surported.

The issue I'm having is that it won't show up-it opens up, it's on my toolbar, I can minimize it, etc.-but for the life of me I can't get it to "reappear". I ran a virus scan, spyware scan, deleted cookies, etc. but still no luck. I even re-installed it. Please help!

I'm trying to watch some lectures online, but when I click on the windows media player option, it plays the videos but I can't hear a thing. However, when I click on a different program. It works just fine. I'd prefer to use media player so I can watch the lecture at a faster speed.

I had the same problem as the guy on this page. CDs were silent when I played them, and this occurred with Windows Media Player only. I went going to Tools > Options > Devices > Audio CD, and noticed that Playback was set to 'Analog'. I changed it to 'Digital' and the problem was solved. If you can't hear CDs in Media Player, give this a try.

My Windows media player sound is distorted. Sometimes it plays fast and other times the sound is overloud or distorted. It used to work fine, in fact a video plays better in my divx player when it should work fine in Windows media player. I'm pretty sure it's the software drivers. I think it all started back when I installed SUPER (the multi video player) and then installed some fft package for the video or something. Anyways I hadn't bothered to fix it because things worked fine in DIVx. Now I'm listening to some mp3's and it's kind of annoying. It could be the FLV player or the SWF player I'm not sure.

Anyways there weren't any clear solutions above, except to check for competing device drivers.

Fixed it.

It was just the graphic equalizer in Windows media player. I remember adjusting it high. Works fine now. Silly me.

So folks, check to see if you haven't changed your equalizer, if you have just set everything back to normal.

I Have Limewire 4.18.8 installed on two computers in my home, Just recently on the second one though. On our first computer all files downloaded from Limewire automattically transfer to the Windows Media Player. I can't figure out how to get the one on this computer to do it. I use my ps3 as a media center to watch my movies.
All movies plays fine on my pc (Media Center) and PS3 but some movies have no audio on the ps3 streaming through media center.

Laptop; Compaq; F557US; Vista preloaded. I recently lost my sound from my computer. Posts suggest program updates the culprit.

Moron from India won't help w/out more $$$$.

Can't reinstall driver, is up to date with most current.

Go to your contral panel, sounds/devices, click uninstall driver, then go to compaq support and re-install driver. Volume control restored.

I now have my WMP restored without paying HP/Compaq more $$ to fix what should have been resolved before selling this model.

I turned off my automatic updates too; until Microsoft figures out the problem.

Guys, to all those who dont know how to make WMP11 pick up Limewire songs without you doing anything do this
1. Open WMP11.
2. Click on File (should be in the top left hand side, if not just press Alt).
3. Click Advanced Options and a box should appear.
4. Click add
5. Follow to your Limewire/saved Path. Mines and yours (unless youve changed it and are an IT Pro, and wont really have problem) is
C:/My Documents/Limewire/saved Then click Ok, there you go...
And to all those who experience Lag, I would suggest looking at how much RAM is installed on your PC (go to Run and type: Dxdiag and on that page it should say Memory, this is your Ram), I would reccomend at least 512mb of Ram, If you dont have thiss I can suggest getting 'Billy' media player you can look @ it from http://www.sheepfriends.com/?page=billy and the download should be there, unfortunately there is not much on it, no equaliser, no Visual just an easy to use Mp3 player

If you have this, follow the same Command to get to Dxdiag (go to Run and type: Dxdiag) and click on the Sound tab, make sure that there is somthing in the "Drivers" box and if not there should be a box next to it saying the Device name, google it and download some drivers for (If there is nothing under the sound tab, or it is Grayed out then go to your local PC store, and buy a cound card and see if they can show you how to put it in your PC, or do it for you...)

For those who are saying "my DvD wont play, Check it is a DvD rom not a CD rom, and for those who say it stutters, check your Ram...

betty mccormack if you just got everything reinstalled on your PC, the guys will have wiped EVERYTHING from your Hard drive, unless your a tech expert who works for the CIA, you will not be able to recover it.

aazzyy. Trust me when I say WMP is NOT the best media player out there, and just because its from Windows doesnt mean that it is the best, If the sound is distorted then just use somthing else.

yolanda. A few things can cause this, check your cables, the amount of times Ive gone into the hardcore stuff, like altering Drivers and whatnot just to realise that the cables are unplugged, if it isnt then click the arrow under Now Playing and hover over enhancements then click on Graphic Equaliser, check that the "Balance" arrow is in the middle, if not that then go to your computers Volume control, should be a speaker looking icon in your taskbar, if not go
Start>All Programs>Accesories>Entertainment> Volume Control and make sure that balance is in the middle there as well, if not that then you will have to give me specifics as to what Sound Card you are using...

I don't have a clue what I've done to the sound on my computer, but while trying to remove Norton Anti Virus 2005 I seem to have deleted something which makes the sound work. I have no sound what so ever, no start up music when i turn on my computer or no sound on youtube, online anywhere!! I have a Packard Bell computer and I went on to their website to download the specific sound driver for my computer but this is still not working. Hey Dave. I have a problem getting sound from my computer when playing from two things.

For example if I am loading up a youtube clip and try to watch a movie on VLC (or any other media player for that matter) the sound will not play but the video works fine.

Essentially, sound will play for the youtube clip but not for any sounds outside of the internet browser, irrespective of what browser I use.

Any thoughts?

Dave -- Grey Headed "semi-non-tekkie" here w/ a WMP question. Just now noticed that a set of tracks [ripped] recently (last week), now make it IMPOSSIBLE to play that original CD in my player -- (Plextor PX-740A), E-IDE. Absolutely not a whimper of trouble since original installation (2 years) until I missed taking the CD w/ me on a trip and when I returned home, found it sitting @ my desk and thought I'd pop it in and listen to the [original sounds]. Now, drawer just recycles back out in 1-2 seconds and just sits open. HOW rude ?? Lots of comments on various sites about trouble not being ABLE to rip things from a CD, but NOTHING about rending the original "inert" after a SUCCESSFUL rip ! This includes [and and ALL) original CDs that heave been ripped to my WMP library !Any help w/ this would be VERY greatly appreciated. the song will play because I can c the bar at the base of the media player move. But i cant hear a dam thing this is recent about 3 weeks now and its starting to get annoying. READ THIS

Right click on Mucic, Pictures, Videos and recording in the library main page and than click "manage the ..."
Than REMOVE C:\USERS\YOURUSERNAME
Just keep C:\USERS\YOURUSERNAME\MUSIC (or PICTURE...)

Because if you keep C:\USERS\YOURUSERNAME media player will update the library every time a program is updating files like firefox temporary internet files.

Works for me and I hope it will help others.

As someone asked but no answer:My media center opens so high can't access min/max/close controls. I can go to task manager to close it but can't grab the window to drag it down lower to access controls and move the screen. PLEASE help??? I cannot reinstall it, lost my cable code it needed first time. Can't find a way to make desktop area smaller so it doesn't fit completely to monitor edges, thought I could gain access to top edge this way :(.

John, check your source material on another computer to see if it's the source or your hardware. Then make sure your device drivers are all up to date.

"alt+space M will allow you to move the window. Use the arrow keys to manually move it left / right / up / down"

I'm not really sure what's up with my laptop. Recently the sound just chooses when it wants to play through my speakers. It always comes in through the headphones without any problems. All my drivers are updated so I'm kind of in the dark.

Hi Dave. WMP 12 has no sound with the onboard sound, but plays fine with an old Creative sound card. All other apps play perfectly with the onboard sound. I unistalled 12 and installed 11, but it had the same exact problem (since 11, like vlc, looks poor compared to 12, a bit misty and blacks are greyish, I reinstalled 12)
I've searched and googled for some time, and tried all the usual troubleshooters and settings, but I can find no answer. Please help! (I need to use the onboard sound, and no sound card installed, so I have room next to the video card to have a really big really silent cooler!)

Solved! In case it helps anyone, simply uncheck 'Allow applications to take control of this device' in taskbar, volume control, click on icon to bring up properties window, advanced tab. That's the final step in my hours of plugging in different sound cards, trying different drivers, and plenty more!

When I try to play a DVD movie when the people speak you can barely hear what they are saying. It is weird because the rest of the sounds in the movie are just great. Music and everything else is fine, problem is just with DVD movies. Rose and Steven, you're probably having codec issues. Rose, I'd suggest you check the volume and settings of your presentation and of PowerPoint on the target machine. Steven, try downloading VLC -- http://www.videolan.org/ -- and see if that'll play your movies including sound.

I have some problem with sound..apparently. I've downloaded one movie and played it in GOM Player, the sound is just low, too quiet for my taste. I don't know how to fix this. On my old system, I had free software that would scan my music on Windows Media Player and evaluate the sound level on each song. If I so choose, I could pass them a second time and the S/W would convert the sound level to a consistent level rather then have some songs too loud and others too low in volume. Could you tell me the name of that S/W?

It seems that I encountered the same problem (Windows Media Player produces no sound) after downloading Windows Service Pack 3. For some unknown reason Windows Service Pack 3 edited my sound card driver. I use a Creative Labs Sound Blaster sound card. To resolve the problem, I had to reinstall the software from the installation disk that came with my sound card. After loading the installation disk, I chose the option to "repair."

I have a new laptop (bought 3 days ago) and when I rip a CD to my library and play it, the songs play in low quality and with static. I also have an mp3 in my library, which I received from a friend, but that works perectly fine with no static and in high quality. Help?!

Hi Dave, this is driving me mad I hope you can help!! after extracting some films, not all just a small % in avi format, when I try to play them on windows media player 11, a small box appears and say that the file I am trying to play has an avi extention, and if i try to to play it it will not perform correctly, so when I do try it tells me I have a codc error and to use windows media player which I am alresdy using!! please help. I've moved some movie files over to it, most play fine, but some play without sound for some reason, I've updated the sound driver, doesn't seem to be the problem. Any ideas?

Open the Control panel
2. Open the "Sounds and Audio Devices" icon.
3. Verify the "Place volume icon in the taskbar" checkbox is checked. If this option is not available or is grayed out, skip to the next section of this document.
4. If you were able to check this box, click ok and close out of this window and the Control Panel.
5. Double-click the sound icon in the Systray and verify that all the sound volumes are mid-way or higher.

Check Windows services. Right Click My Computer and Manage. Choose Services and Application > Services. Choose "Windows Audio" and set to Automatic and Start.
Now next you can do is
If you open control panel & click device manager the window that opens will show a list of all installed hardware. Look for anything with an exclamation mark beside it, or to do with sound. If you see anything, right click it, check it isn't Disabled then select "Properties." The next window should have some tabs along the top, the one you are looking for is "Driver," you should now see an "Update driver" button.
Check ur sound card information by doing this
Click on start menu
Click on Run
Type dxdiag, enter
Click on the sound tab
There is button of test direct sound click on this check if there is sound
Check ur registry. Check if the sound registry key is enabled or disabled. There could be an error in registry, run registry cleaner reg in out to scan for errors.

So every time I try to watch a DVD on my laptop, the background music is really, really loud, and the voices are very quiet. I can't hear anything they are saying, and it completely ruins the movies. It's my school laptop, so the security wont let me access the control panel. Is there anything I can do to get the sound to work correctly? It's very annoying.

when I play my laptop through my hifi ie mini phono out using the headphone socket from the laptop into the back of the hi fi- the music cuts out for about 1 second about every 5 minutes yet when I play the laptop with the phono lead disconnected it does not do this. any idea what the problem is thanks

i have recently had a sound issue on both windows media player and real player, the problem is when playing an audio or video file, the music (as in the beat) plays fine through the speakers, however when someone speaks the voice is all muffled but the music keeps coming through, i have checked all audio and video settings including codecs and have had no joy

this my third time facing this problem and for the last two i had to format the computer put i can't do this every month.
The problem that i have whenever i insert a DVD/CD into me DVD player the sound of my computer goes into a slow motion for example if i am listening to a song in real player or iTunes or any other program the song would go into a slow motion not only the songs the hole computer sound goes like this.
At first i thought it was a virus (for the two time before) but yesterday when i was coping some ".avi" files from a DVD disc to my hard disk it just got stuck and couldn't complete the operation after that the song problem happened again and i am pretty sure that the DVD disc doesn't have virus in it because i was using it before and nothing wrong had happened

----- to the people who want limewire songs to play in windows media player, i did this myself, i had to copy all of the music from the limewire files and paste them to my 'music' files under the start button. dont know why, but it worked. if that doesnt work, make sure the file is wmp compatible, like .wmv or so on you can google 'what files does windows media player play?' if it isnt download a simple converter, google 'convert music to .wmv' lots of info will pop up.
----now then, does anyone know why my comp wont play voices as loud as background music? i can fix if i change sound effects, but that also makes it echo. any help would be appreciated. thanks.

Fair enough, "audio guy", but you'd be surprised how often common sense is rather uncommon and while you're an expert (as demonstrated by your 'audio guy' handle) there are a ton of people who are stymied by the complexity and even the jargon associated with Windows Media Player and related.

Hello! I am having a problem with my windows media center's volume while watching live TV! All of a sudden out of know where, I don't have any volume what so ever. I can listen to my music or watch the internet TV through MCE with no problems at all. My only issue is absolutely no volume while watching live TV. I have tried everything that I know of...

My problem is somewhat different than those listed. I am currently getting all sounds perfectly thru my on board digital coax out into my receiver for home theater perfectly. Trying to run a secondary out i.e. headphones or stereo speaker analog to my multisource, the only sounds that come thru are the system sounds. With my laptop running vista I can do both. Any suggestions for my desktop running 7?

I have an overloaded HD. Windows vista in response has halted any form of text to be displayed upon start-up. Therefore I cannot use the menu in order to lighten the load on my HD. Re-starting in safe mode provides no joy either. HELP please

Maybe is the Bits version of the Media player...if you have 32 bits and you download the 64Bits version your sound card will fail!

i was having the problem of not being able to hear actors voices over the background noises. i was using VLC player which is my fav!!!

this worked for me: went to speakers properties then enhancements. checked the box with vocal. all actors voices could then be heard, no downloads or any complicated fixes needed!!

I started recording my lp's to my computer and everything was fine. When I stopped for a while and then went back to record some more records they wouldn't record. I was using windows media with a turntable plugged into the mic port on my laptop. I used troubleshooting and the problem was fixed. I stopped after recording for a while and the next day when I was ready to record again windows media wouldn't record. I've also been getting an echo sound and although the last time I recorded I clicked on stop recording and unplugged the turntable, every time I brush the front of the laptop or make a sound it is amplified. When I turn on sound recorder instead of the green bar being on the left hand side it's all the way to the left as if I was recording something. I've tried troubleshoot again but it says all setting are right. Please help, if possible. I have a lot more lp's to record before I move to another country.
