How can I delete my MySpace account?

i am trying to delete a myspace account that i can not log into.
i've tried to log into it on several different computer systems, but there's just something wrong with that profile.
is there anyway to delete it without logging on?

I'm afraid I don't know what to advise, other than to contact the MySpace people and work it out with them. It's all about verification of your identity so that someone else doesn't delete your MySpace account by sneaking into your profile.

I have created a brand new account last night and when I go and log in it will not let me, is there anyway I can delete that new account? How would I delete it if I have no access insided that account?

Unfortunately, as far as I know, you can't delete your MySpace account if you don't have access to that email address.

I created a MySpace account about 6 months ago and it was going good until one day when I could not log in. I clicked on "lost password" and entered my email address and it says it doesn't exist. Poof! My email address has been erased from their database. I emailed them about it and got the typical email they send telling me about cookies blah blah blah. Thats not my problem. The problem lies with their database. Then I tell them to just delete the damn thing. They asked for a salute so I sent them one. Its been 4 months now and my profile is still there and I can't log in. MySpace has absolutely no customer service. They suck, period.

Hello. Okay so I have been phished on myspace. So it asks me to change my password. First I logged out and logged back in to make sure i was in the right site, myspace. When I changed my password, now i"m locked out. It says this:

if you got locked for being phished in the last hour, it's a bug! we're working on fixing it right now. sorry about that! the mechanism to detect if your account has been phished has been very powerful for stopping phishing, but it went a little haywire just now. things should be back to normal soon! if you're wondering what phishing is, read my blog :)

Now I am not sure if Tom locked me out or the phisher!! Please let me know how to proceed. At this point I'm afraid to do anything!

MySpace is not sending confirmation email for cancelling accounts.
They are sending other messages, allowing you to change your email address or your password, but are not sending confirmation emails for cancelled accounts.
They do not respond to emails, support emails at any of their sites.
They simply refuse to respond.
Until they fix this, I recommend that nobody start a new account on MySpace. You may put up information about yourself, and be locked out of your account, or have it remain on the internet forever.

Try posting pornography especially to your profile image if you can sign in. This will likely lead to a ban. Just a suggestion though.

I sent a complaint to the Better Business Bureau, and I suggest you all do the same as well. A search of "Remove Profile" results in hundreds of people who want their accounts deleted but haven't been deleted yet. Isn't it clear to you all that myspace wants to keep you from leaving the site. It sucks! It took me more than a month and many emails to finally get my account "closed." Is anyone with me on this? Do anyone have lawyer friends to consult with? Myspace says it will delete our profiles completely once we confirm our account cancellation, but it's a wide lie. It sucks a big time! I think we ought to bring a legal action against Myspace if it makes it so difficult or will not close our accounts upon our requests. If you want to cancel your account, just delete all your friends/comments/layouts/pictures/names/etc.. Then you will have nothing but a blank page, I have just done this myself.

An update on my prior comments. Myspace finally made my profile info out of the sight, and later on also removed my name. It takes so many steps and it really tries patience. So if you want to do it do-it-yourself way, just follow Tim's tips (see right above), which is a great idea. But you have to be able to login to your account to do that. Otherwise, you need to keep on emailing Myspace until they solve the problem. Just don't give up.
