How do I forward my Gmail mail to another account?

Hi, can you please send me the procedure how to redirect the mails from Gmail account to Yahoo account?

Dave's Answer:

This is easily done, though I find Gmail a far better interface than Yahoo Mail, but that's just a matter of personal preferences... :-)

Log in to your Gmail account and click on "Settings", then "Forwarding and POP":

Google Gmail Settings: Forwarding and POP

Now you can see where you can specify the forward you seek:

Google Gmail Settings: Forwarding and POP

The pop-up gives you three choices, btw:

Google Gmail Settings: Forwarding and POP

That's all you need, you should be able to set this up and live happily in Yahooland!

One thing though. Forwarding doesn't exclude spam. So if you have a lot of emails in spam flder -- they will also be forwarded.

It's really too bad that yahoo! doesn't let you forward mail to Gmail without paying $20 a year.

Yes, Yahoo doesn't support forwarding unless you are using his mail plus option. I also found an tutorial about this on http://withsteps.com/how-to-redirect-forward-emails-from-gmail-to-another-email-address/

you could set yahoo to redirect to a valid exchange account (if you have one) then redirect from THAT account to yahoo?

A way around the ghastly yahoo ;)

Hello,
I am one of the development team member. I would suggest a very simple solution(tool) to transfer a mail (or more than a mail/specified mail) from one Gmail account to another Gmail account. The Tool is Beyond Inbox beyondinbox.com

Using Beyond Inbox, you can backup, restore, archive, transfer or organize email from any IMAP enabled email account.

There are five basic functions that we all need to perform in order to manage and safeguard our email- backup, restore, archive, transfer email to another IMAP account and organize the data. Beyond Inbox can help you perform all of these in a very efficient and easy way.

It makes a single file(.eml) for each downloaded mail, so that you can see the relevent mail through any other email Client application like MS Outlook, Thunderbird etc.

Beyond Inbox is available in two different flavors i.e. an easy User Interface using which you use all its feature like backup ,restore, copy and move and Command line interface using which you can schedule the task of gmail backup or IMAP backup .

You can use this tool on Windows, Linux as well as Mac OSX. Click here to download beyondinbox.com/beyondinbox-download.html
