I’ve been using Blogger for a while and have grown to really like, especially after I read your note about changing templates (How to change your Blogger template). My question now is that I have a new design that’s mostly reds but the Blogger NavBar is blue. Can I change its color?
Yes you can. In fact, if you went through the process of changing your template on Blogger.com you actually skipped right past the spot where you can change the color of the Blogger navbar, believe it or not!
Let’s review the steps needed to change templates, and I’ll stop where the navbar setting can be found…
First, log in and get to your Dashboard. It’ll look like this:
Click on the little machine wheel / cog icon (it’s under “CHANGE SETTINGS”) on the blog you’d like to change. The top of the subsequent screen will have the following set of tabs:
Click on “Template”, and you’ll see three options: Edit current, AdSense and Pick new. You want the first of these options, “Edit current”, which has the following on the top of the page:
That’s where you can indeed change the color of your navigational bar. The default is blue, as you know, but you can also choose from tan, black and silver. Pick the one you prefer, then at the bottom of the page choose “Save Template Changes” and even though it now says “you must publish to see your changes” the fact is, if this is the only change you made, you’re done and the change has happened.
Go to your Blogger weblog and admire your handiwork.
