How do I change my lifestyle profile on MySpace?

How do you change the drink/smoke detail on your myspace?? It's impossible to find and change it.

Dave's Answer:

I'm surprised you're finding this tough. Here's how you can make those changes, hopefully because you're cleaning up your act, not because you're drinking and smoking more than when you signed up (yeah, yeah, I'm a Dad, I have to say this sort of thing!)

Anyway, log in to MySpace, then click on Edit Profile. Now you'll see the following set of options:

MySpace Edit Profile: Menu
Click for full-size image

What you'll want is to click on the Background & Lifestyle link, that has the information settings you seek. First you'll see options for Marital Status, Sexual Orientation, Hometown, etc., but lower down on that page you'll find:

MySpace Edit Profile: Smoker/Drinker

Make the changes you desire, scroll to the bottom of the page, and click on the Save Changes button.

Done!

Now, while we're talking about MySpace, perhaps you'd like to check out my profile on MySpace or if you still seek answers, I have lots of MySpace Help here too.

Do you no where it is?

Posted by: Courtney at March 5, 2007 3:07 PM

I have no idea where it could have gone. Do you have an under-18 profile, Courtney??

Posted by: Dave Taylor at March 5, 2007 3:15 PM

You have to change your birthday year to something over 21 and then go to the backround and lifestyle link and it will have the smoker/drinker questions

Posted by: Kate at March 8, 2007 7:39 PM

yeah you have to go and change you age to over 21.
then the smoke/drink part will apear. after that you can go and change your age back to your real age and it wont show up again.

Does anyone know how to change the marital status to something like 'Wouldn't you like to know?' or 'n/a' or something of your choosing instead of the usual married/single/divorced/in a relationship?

I want to change my Marital Status to Dead.
is there a possible way to do so?
Thank you.

looking at a lot of myspace profiles, i found that some people have set their marital status to different phrases, such as i'm getting hitched...how do i do that myself? is there a way?

Posted by: Lynda at May 13, 2007 3:03 PM

i think what the person who originally asked about the lifestyle stuff is how do you change for example, your marital status to "wouldnt you like to know" or change it to something other than what the options are
