How do I change my Hotmail password in Windows Live Hotmail?

I know how to change my Hotmail password in the old version of Hotmail, but now that there's a new, fancier version, I'm kinda lost. Can you tell me how to change my hotmail password, uh, Windows live password, please?

Most of the approach is the same as in the older Hotmail interface, actually, and, of course, it's quite possible that when you read this article you'll find that it's changed again: look for an update at the end of this article with the latest instructions on how to change your MSN Hotmail password. :-)

You need to log in to start.

Make sure that you start by typing in hotmail.com to your browser, rather than clicking on any sort of link in a mail message or on another Web site, even this one!

Now, on the right corner you'll see "Options". Click on it:

Microsoft MSN Windows Live Hotmail: Options Menu

The choice you want is at the very bottom, More options.... Chose that and you'll see a familiar set of choices in your window:

You want the first one, and don't be surprised if it promptly asks you for your password again:

Microsoft MSN Windows Live Hotmail: Retype Your Password

Now you'll be on "account.live.com" (check the URL in your browser) and you'll have something like this:

You can see the blue "Change" immediately adjacent to my password. That's what you want to click!

Microsoft MSN Windows Live Hotmail: Change / Reset New Hotmail Password

Enter your current password and your new password - twice - then click "Save" and you'll have reset your password and will have to log in again.

That should help you reset your password, something you should be doing every few months anyway, just for good luck!

I went ot go into my email address Saturday afternoon to see if my friend had emailed me the info i had asked for, only half an hour earlier, to find it would not accept my password, on trying a few times i have now been locked out and it won't even let me into my, you know that bit they ask you say mother birth place. For the loading problem, you can try to use another web browser. Try Mozilla Firefox, it works for me. There's something wrong with IE, the page seems to keep loading forever.

The problem of the turning balls and loading forever can be solved by upgrading your internet explorer however that can be a complicated task - you can use a very simple workaround - install a diffrent internet browser (for example firefox takes 2 min to install and works fine on the changing account details page).

I clicked to the new version of hotmail this morning and don't like it how do get the old version back. The new one has a too enlarged (4pgs) of contacts and to forwad a good joke or important message to several ppl would take too long not like the old hotmail I love so much.
