How do I change my default MySpace Profile photograph?

Did MySpace change things so you can't modify your default picture or photograph? I changed it once before, but now I can't figure out how to update my default photo. Help!

Dave's Answer:

According to Tom's bulletin posted the end of May, 2007, MySpace did indeed change the way you go about modifying your default photo on the system. Let me show you how to do it and you'll see, it's not too bad even with the redesign.

Log in to your MySpace profile and click on "Add/Edit Photos". Now you'll see a blank upload box, but if you scroll down just a bit, you'll find your default photo:

MySpace: Default Photo

It's a bit confusing here, but while you can only see one picture, notice that it shows that there are two pictures, not just one! So what you need to do is click on "View" and you'll see all the photos you've uploaded in your default album:

MySpace: Default Photo: Album

Now click on the photo that you want to use as the new default photograph, and you'll see a bunch of options:

MySpace: Set New Photograph as Default Photo

See the Make Default button? That's what you want. Click on it and you'll get a warning message:

MySpace: Set New Default Photo

Finally, click "OK" and you'll have switched your default photograph on your profile to the new image!

Now, before you're done, you should pop over to my MySpace profile and see if I stuck with the new photo or reverted back to my original portrait! :-)

Update! MySpace has changed how you update your profile photograph or picture, so I've a new, updated tutorial here: How to change your default MySpace profile picture/photograph.

I cannot see any of the options you mentioned. In my myspace account - under edit/view pictures it is complete different than what you talk about :(

You might be having problems if your using a PC, whereas the instructions are for a MAC, you can see this by the windows above.

Its just different wording,
go to upload/change photos > then double click on the folder where your image is > then double click on the image you want.

Now, after this you will notice as mentioned above a small "profile pic" next to this is "set as default"
Just double click on this and it should set it straight away......

karl and jujumoo...i had the same problem as you and i have a mac. try this. go to where your profile pic should be...underneath will say Photos: Edit|Upload. Click Edit. Click on the Picture of Album "My Photos" or whichever album your pic is in.
Click on the picture you'd like to make your profile pic. Then you have to click it again. It will now appear larger. Now above the picture will be a row of options, the first is "Set as Default" next is "Use as album cover" and so on. Click "Set as Default" and you're golden. Hope this helps!
