How can I change my account password in AOL.com?

I use AOL occasionally to test things, but refuse to download the AOL software as it's bloatware and always seems to screw up my PC. So I go in through AOL.com. But using that, how the $#@$@ do I change my account password?

Dave's Answer:

Without access to the handy AOL keyword shortcut system, AOL.com can make it pretty tedious to find things like how to modify your account settings. Fortunately, I'm here to do the heavy lifting! :-)

Log in to your account by clicking on the Sign In link:

AOL.com Signin in Navigational Bar

You'll get the usual login and password prompts, and you'll need to use your old password since we haven't changed it yet:

AOL.com Signin Box

Now you're logged in, scroll down and on the lower left side of your page you'll see a set of "More From AOL" options:

AOL.com: More from America Online

Choose "Safety and Security Services" to proceed.

At this point you'll be at the AOL security center, but the link you want isn't one of those staring at you, but instead the "My Account" link off the "Help" menu:

AOL.com: Discover AOL: Help for America Online

AOL might ask you to verify your security question at this point, or it might not. If you have multiple screen names, it also might ask you to specify which you want to modify at this juncture.

Once you've correctly re-identified yourself and specified which screen name to modify, you'll see a list of account-related options for your account:

AOL.com Signin in Navigational Bar

Click on "Password" and you're home free!

AOL.com / America Online: Change Password

Specify a new password, click "Save" and you're done!

It's easier if you just goto my.screenname.aol.com, login with your user name/pass and asq. then you can change all your settings there.

I am in South America and cannot go on line. I must have forgotten my password or the one I think it is just isn't. I've been asked twice what "My school" is and neither one of my school names connects. What should I do? I can't get to my e-mail. I'm here for the next two weeks and I'd really like to be able to read my mail. Thanks
