Can people hack my Google Gmail account?

Hey - Iam a Member by Invite and Once-upon a -time I was able to find the place where there were lots and lots of mail that had been saved and I do not know where it is now,,,I have spent many hours searching and Google has tried to get my drift but failed. What is the secret?

I WANT TO HAVE ACCOUNT

I just exited my gmail account by closing Internet Explorer. Afew minutes later I signed on to Explorer again, hit "go to gmail" in favourites, and it went right to my account without asking for my gmail address and password.
What gives? This is a classroom computer, so students could have gone into my account.

By default, Gmail logs you in for two weeks. If you want to avoid students playing with your mail (a generally good idea!) then make sure you click "logout" rather than just clicking away from the site.

Another way to do it is to put nothing in your secondary email address.

but i know its harder if you lose your password.

not much of a hack i'm afraid. it's no more than a mistake by a careless/ignorant user. Then again there's always a slim chance of that happening I guess.

There's one form with gmail abuse team that you can use if your gmail account is hacked. It means the hacker may have changed your seconodary email address and secret Q/A. I'm not able to surf from office :) but you may get some link from here

Note - getting account back is not easy. You would need lot of info esp related too who invited you, the original verification code (that goes to person's initial secondary address), invitee original email address, date of account opening and so on

Why the hell doesn't GMail just show you a simple list of your last (x) number of logins? Time, date, and from what IP. That way you would at least KNOW if someone was using it.

As it is, 300 people could be logging into your account and you would never even realize it.

Somebody had hacked my gmail account. he is continuing his habit from the past few months. I thhink in every week he changes my password and modifies my orkut profiles, deletes friends and messages. also, if ur password and username is not needed to access ur gmail, turning off the autocomplete from IE will help!

some one few days back has sent me an scrap in orkut with alink. i clicked on that and after some days i came to know that im hacked. he haschanged the ownership of all the communities i own and started sending abusive and vulgur scraps to my frnds. so out no way i had to delete my account. i had tried to change the password of my account too but it seems that he is coming to know about that too and contunuing disturbing. since i have deleted my orkut account yesterday out of frustration and the uid and password was same as that of orkut and gamail. so is there any way revert back the whole thing and i get back everything without being hacked.

My problem is that someone hack my daughter gmail account and changed their password and secondary email adress.
I happen in the past and after first time a made a reset and i put a secondary email adress.
The problem is, i don’t have the id to put in formulary to gmail support, i have only the last email send to me by gmail to reset password in 28 february.
I have shure someone taken is alias as yours because the security question is changed.
My daughter can’t do that (she’is only 4 year old) i made it in the beginning to reserve the name, and i given’t a chance to someone take password.

I have a gmail account, apart from the one I mentioned in my comment. I opened my gmail after a few months and have forgotten my original password. I dont remember if i gave my secondary mail id while registering. I have done "I forgot my password" option to enter a new password and have checked all my other mail ids for change password option email. But, like I said I dont think I gave a secondary id while registering. also dont have a security question. Is it possible to know my initial password, that is currently active.

It is a common problem. My gmail account is hacked and someone is sending malicious mails from my acccount. But I can still access the account.
Is there anyway to find out who did it!!
I have reported to google support but there is no repsonse.
I changed the password and within a day even that was hacked!!
Also, I have the mail which one is being sent from that id. Is there any way from that mail to find out where it originated from?

I find a few flaws in your method to 'hack gmail'.
You need to talk to who you want to hack before they set up the gmail account.
You need to convince them to do it through you.
You need to make sure they don't suspect you of doing anything.
And what would the point of doing it this way, since they need another account to talk to you before hand?

I have quite a different problem. I’ve been sending messages to my bf’s e-mail account which is name@gmail.com However, it turns out that a completely different person, living thousands of miles away, is receiving my very personal messages. I only found out about it when I tried to sync my facebook account with my gmail address book (in order to see who among them have facebook). Then, I saw that a different person, who also has the same REAL name as my bf, is registered to facebook with the SAME email address that my bf has— name@gmail.com So, I sent another message asking if he’s receiving my messages and he replied. I was so embarassed! He said that he didn’t want to reply to the messages because he didn’t want to embarrass me too much and that he figured that I would find out about it eventually. My bf hasn’t logged on for months in his account, so we speculated that his account must’ve expired, hence, the username became available to another guy. But the other guy said that he has been using that e-mail account for four years already! On the other hand, my bf registered just last year. I’m really confused… how do you think is this possible? I changed my gmail password and now I have forgotten it. The secondary email id that I have given is no longer valid and the security question I had skipped filling at the time of registering.
I can't afford to lose my gmail account as I have database of three years saved in it.

I tried to log-in to my gmail account and every time I put my Email and the Password in I alway's get someone elses. Please tell me some way to log in to my Email again. Thank-you.

(1) Goto your browser and type: www.gmail.com

(2) Click on "I cannot access my account"

(3) Choose "My account has been compromised"

(4) Click "Account recovery form" which appers now.

(5) Choose No if you are not using Google Apps. (mostly no).

(6) Choose None of the above from the list that appeas if you have not used any of the above and click Continue

(7) Choose "I believe some has taken over my account"

(8) Choose " Yes" for the secound question.

(8.1) Give the Gmail id that was hacked.

(9) Give a proper email id that works in the last field and click Submit

I haven't clicked Submit so I dont know what comes next. But I am sure if its commonsense you will get ur old account back in 48 hours.

I created three orkut accounts with the same URL . I do not know what happened suddenly . While I entered my Username and Password , and after pressing Enter , I got an error message that the Username and Password did not match . Please try again . I got threatened as what I gave was the correct password .

Then , I tried entering my second accounts Username and Password , I again got the same error while signing in . I have heard my friends saying that they were unable to access orkut somedays back . So , I compromised myself thinking so .

I had a gmail account for just about a year, but I deleted it and its contents more than ninety days ago. Emails I deleted would be devastating to an accuser in a current lawsuit and would absolutely change the outcome of the case. If served with some sort of subpoena or warrant, could Google provide past deleted e-mails from an account that was deleted more than ninety days ago? I have this gmail account for about 2months now but recently my addressees arent receiving any mail i send!!!! It has become very frustrating to see the email from Gmail telling me that the emails I sent were delayed & afterwards, failed permanently.

I did not ask Gmail or Firefox to save the password. Is there anywhere on my PC that passwords are stored even if I havent requested them to be saved? Jason, that's just your Google account data: to have a Gmail account, you have a Google account. You can go into that area (go into Settings -- Account) and turn off a bunch of it. More importantly, I suggest that you not share your pw with anyone, gf or otherwise...

I have very simple and genuine problem, "i forgot my password", i have access to my secondary mail ID where i am able to get the link from Google team to reset my password.But i want to know my old password which i forget B'coz i have other accounts those having same password which i forgot.

On 4th May 2010, my Gmail and Facebook acc was compromised. The hacker had changed all password etc and also uploaded a Nude Picture to it and Facebook disabled my acc for Nudity.

my gmail account-lovingnivedita@gmail.com has been hacked by a person, i know very well. But because we now are no more in good terms he is misusing my account. And he has changed every bit of password recovery option, including his private cell no,so that any changes made in the accounts, he is acknowledged about it. I don't know what to do. Pls help me sir.

My gmail account was hacked a couple of months back. I've tried to get Google inc to get it back to me, but the hacker has changed the password and personal question. As well, I don't remember the dates etc that I started using the product...the invite lay fallow in my Hotmail acct for a long time. As well, whoever got it is now using my youtube account as well. Is there any way that I can restore this stuff....its turning into ID theft!
