Auto Signon and Stored Password in America Online (AOL)?I am Ben C. Wilson and I want to have my pass word be keyed in automatically. How do I do it? Well, hello there Ben! There are a couple of different ways you can solve your dilemma, the easiest of which is to get to the signon screen in America Online: ![]() then type in your password and click on the option Save Password, as shown here: ![]() That's your basic problem solved. Now, what you might want to do instead is either have AOL connect automatically when you start up your computer each time or connect automatically each time you start up the AOL software (I never recommend the former option, actually, because it's too easy for you to be online for days on end without realizing it). Under the Safety menu, choose Settings and you'll see a rather huge list of different areas you can tweak: ![]() As the cursor shows, you'll want to select Start-up Settings, which will lead you to this useful window: ![]() At this point you can open AOL when you're connected to the Internet each time, automatically sign up with a specific screen name, and even enable or disable Fast Start, as you may prefer. Make the changes you want, then click on Save and you're good to go! Important note: Any time you opt to store your password, it's obviously quite important to ensure that your machine is secure because anyone who can get to it can also start up the program and masquerade as you and access your personal email and files. Hope that helps you get set up properly with AOL!

Hello - I am with AOL but using I/E and O/E for e-mail and the internet. If I sign on via aol it goes directly through the 7 steps and connects but if I go through the icon in the systems tray it stops at step 4, a screen comes up telling me to fix my password, and on doing this the steps are completed and I get on line. I would like to have the icon in the systems tray work the same way as getting on line via aol. Also the screen for All the Web has changed and I don't know how to get the previous screen. It is now All the Web Live Search and I want to change it ????? kim said, on March 12, 2007 4:10 AM:
