Dave, help! How do I download the music already on my computer to my creative zen mp3 player?

Dave, I'm using the latest release of Microsoft Window Media Player and am having a problem I thought you could help me with: the CDs that I burn in Media Player don't work on my car's CD player. How do I fix this problem?

Hi Dave, I was looking at your site on how to download music onto a mp3 player. I am buying one for my friend for her birthday and didn't want to get a really expensive one (she just wants it for when she runs) so I am looking at one other than iPod. I want to load it with music for her from cd's (I have a lot) but don't know how to do that. I have iTunes and I read how you can change the default to mp3...can I do that temporarily, then put it back for my ipod?

Dave, sometimes when I'm using Windows Media Player on my WinXP system, I get this mysterious "Unknown error" (C00D11CD)". What does it mean and how do I avoid it happening?

Dave, I'm going a bit bonkers. Every time I try to play a CD or watch a DVD on my WinXP system in Windows Media Player, the sound fades out and I'm left without any audio track. I've tried jiggling my speaker cables, reseating my sound card, restarting Windows Media Player (or even my PC), and even sacrificing an old Abba CD to the Microsoft Gods, but nothing helps. How do I fix this sort of sound device problems?

Dave, when I’m using Windows Media Player I seem to have trouble finding the right combination of songs to fill a CD. Is there a simple way to automate this?

I don't get it. The audio on my Windows PC seems to be just fine, I can hear system beeps, etc., but when I use Windows Media Player, I can't hear any of the music that's being played, regardless of how I adjust the volume in the player up or down. What's going on?

I don't know what my son did when he was installing his latest game, but when I put music CDs into my Dell PC (running Microsoft Windows 7 if it matters) the Zune Player app is launched rather than my preferred application Windows Media Player. Dave, I've read your articles about how to transfer MP3 music files to a Sony PSP and other MP3 device, but what baffles me is that when I insert music CDs into my PC, it produces "WMA" files, not "MP3" files. How do I fix this, or is Windows Media Player incapable of producing MP3s?

Dave, I just got a little Lexar LDP-200 digital music player and have no clue how to add music to the device! It says it supports MP3, WMA and WMA DRM, but I don't know what they are. I just want to have something tiny to use as a music player while running. Help?

Like you, I am highly impressed with the Creative Labs Zen Vision:W [see my review] but it's darn frustrating that Creative only makes its software available for Windows computers, not Mac. I know about the XNJB application that lets me add photos and audio, but it won't let me work with movies. So is there some sort of solution?

I really enjoyed your pre-System call with Ken McCarthy (register to listen to the call or learn more about the conference) but I had a problem when trying to listen to it on my Creative Zen Microphoto MP3 player.

If I listen to the downloaded call on my PC it comes out fine, however if I transfer it to my Zen it plays real slow. Kind of like a 45rpm record being played at 33rpm. Any thoughts on what is causing this? I don't have this problem with other mp3 downloads except the ones from Ken which all seem to suffer the same problem.

I have a powerbook g4 titanium , 60 GB HD, 512 MB ram, 1Ghz processor. I use the program DVD Backup to put dvd's on my desktop as TS folders. It has served me well on business trips, bored meetings, etc. I recently upgraded to Tiger and now I can not watch the created VIDEO_TS folders on the DVD player. What is the deal?

When I put a music or audio CD into my Microsoft Windows PC, it launches Zune Player. Very weird. How do I change it to either launch iTunes, which I use to manage the music on my iPod, or Windows Media Player, which I use for music on the computer itself? I'm running Windows 7, btw.

I have MusicMatch Jukebox on my computer and it starts automatically. (Windows XP) I do not like it. I much prefer Microsoft's Windows Media Player. I've tried to switch Windows Media Player to the default, and it will work when I open specific music or audio files (and I do tell it to open "all files of this type with this program"), but it goes back to opening MusicMatch when a new file comes along.
