I'm really starting to learn about how to do cool stuff with iPhoto, but Im' still baffled about one thing: if there's a picture in iPhoto that I want to upload to a Web site or use outside of the world of iPhoto, how do I do it? That is, how do I pull a photo out of the iPhoto universe?

Now that I am importing photographs into iPhoto taken by different members of my family, I'd like to be able to see which camera (e.g., which photographer) was responsible for a given picture. I believe that information is stored in the "exif" information, but how do I view that in iPhoto on my Mac?

I've finally imported a few years worth of photographs into iPhoto and it's very cool - I'm having fun organizing things - but in addition to how it has organized everything, I'd also like to have convenient access to photos by when they were taken. I don't know whether that'd be a new Event or an Album or even a "smart album" (whatever that is), but what's the easiest way to have a subset of my iPhoto photographs show up based on date?

I read through your article on How to create an iPhoto Smart Album and have been finding it pretty slick indeed. Problem is, after I've created a Smart Album I find that the photos aren't always what I want: is there some way to tweak or modify an existing Smart Album in Apple iPhoto without having to recreate it?

I've been learning more about Apple iPhoto, partially thanks to your great tutorials on the subject, but am stumped. Instead of wanting to grab images directly off my camera, I find that I need to pull in a folder full of photographs from a friend so I can have them as an event. I can see that there's a "Flickr" button on the bottom of the iPhoto pages in Apple's iPhoto program, but I have no idea how to use it. Can you step me through the process so I can learn how to publish my pictures on Flickr since I don't have Mobile Me?

I've been organizing photos with Apple's iPhoto program since I first got my iMac, but I've wished for a long time that there was a way to tweak the pictures, rather than just organize them. I really like how iPhoto works with my Apple MobileMe account on the Web and the gallery it produces is very cool. My friends, in particular, really tell me they think it looks cool and makes it fun for them to see the photos I upload. I have a new Apple iPhone and am having fun with it, but I can't figure out how to download photographs or pictures onto it. Is there some trick or technique? Also, in case it makes a difference, I don't use iPhoto to manage my photo albums.

I've been experimenting with different photo management applications on my new iMac system and am impressed with Aperture. Except for one little glitch: sometimes when I plug in my camera it automatically shows up in Apple's Aperture, and other times it doesn't. I've just started using Aperture on my iMac rather than iPhoto because I have been told I have too many photos for iPhoto to work well and I was definitely seeing a slowdown in performance. Help! I loaded my digital camera pictures at Wal-Mart to view them and now I can't locate them anywhere and I deleted the pictures already by mistake on the disk. I've used iPhoto for a long time on my iMac and one of its best features is the ability to select a pile of photos and share them with my Facebook friends. I've recently shifted to Aperture and like its additional power and capabilities but can't get it to connect with my Facebook account any more. If it matters, I did set up the Facebook 2-step verification security, as you recommended. Are these related?

I really like Aperture, but I have to say that it's pretty crazy slow when I start it up, often taking a few minutes before I can use it on my iMac. That can't be right, even with a lot of photos in the library. Are there any ways to speed Aperture up??

How can I change the picture on the background of my Mac? I know it's probably easy, but I have no clue.

i need just a little help here im not sure just what happened. i accidently closed my ichat instead of safari so i brought it back up like any other time. but when i brought it back up this time, it asked me for to do a new user config. i shutdown and restarted my mac and my background reverted to default, all my book marks were lost (both in safari and firefox), my icon for ichat changed to the one on my user logon. my iphoto library (where i had my backgound image) shows the outline of the picture but thats all. also, all my stuff on my desktop disappeared. im not sure if this is all that has changed yet.

I have a new iPod Touch which is awesome, but one thing has stumped me: how do I add photos to my iPod? I take a lot of photographs at parties and other events and want to be able to upload them from my computer after editing them. I don't want to upload one-by-one, however, but an entire photo album at a time so that the set are then displayed on Facebook as an album. Is that possible from a Mac or do I need to be on a PC?
